$75 Limit on Credit Cards at Gas Pumps

As if the ridiculously high gas prices didn't frustrate all of us enough, many owners of SUV's, pickups, and motor homes who use a credit card at the pump can't get a full tank of gas. Now many gas stations have a $75 limit on Visa or MasterCard transactions at the pump and once you hit the limit, you must make a second transaction to finish filling. To keep this from happening to you, go see the attendant inside to have the card swiped instead of making two separate transactions.

Yes-do not use your card at the pump anymore.    The funny thing is that credit cards can limit you to $75.00 at the pump but what you don't know is this.  I put $20.00 in my tank & the credit card was authorized for a $100.00 transaction.  It took over 1 week & discussion with the fraud department to get the $80.00 that I didn't use at the pump put back on my credit card.
The gas station used my $80.00 for their benefit, for 1 week, until it was put back on my card.  When is the last legal time you could use $80.00 of credit or debit without being charged for it for a period of 1 week?  We are so used to plastic that paper money seems to be a thing of the past.  How many people have you seen lately carrying plastic gas cans because they ran out of gas & the last gas station has a hold on their $$ so they can't fuel up again?
My experience has me using cash at the pump now.
