I agree with you and while everyone is weighing in, and passing judgements, what they don't seem to realize is that they could be next in line, all they need is for someone in the media (Free Press mainly and 7) to not like you (them) and there dislike gives them the right to investigate you and your life with their poparazzi style tactics as they did with the Mayor civil court charges yeah right and Kym Worthy Ken and the rest of the City Council everyone in positon asking the mayor to step down jumping on the band wagon you are only in a spotlight you are not standing under the sun!!!! We have if not the biggest Black (African~American) buying power not one is disstracted but those so called leaders who are to easily disstracted to be in those positions. We the consumer are not going to stop shopping in Detroit, doing our business in Detroit so please quit speaking for us!!!

Last I checked, being in public office meant this was allowed. Obviously city officials are not checking each other and making sure these crimes aren't being committed, so I'm glad we have news media that is.
Anyways, like the prosecutor said, this is not an issue because of sex. This is an issue of perjury and obstruction of justice. If he had been honest about his relationship from the beginning, we would not be going through this; instead, he lied (under oath even), and now he is facing the consequences, just like any American would under the circumstances. The only difference is that everybody in the country is watching because he is a public figure.

The Mayor has an affair, unlawfully fires innocent police officers, lies under oath, costs the city he's residing over 8 to 9 million dollars in lawsuits (as a result of trying to cover-up that affair), gets "booked" on perjury charges and further taints the image of a city that was already in dire need of an overhaul and has his "mugshot" plastered on every news program nationwide. With all of this, some citizens, religious leaders and the Mayor himself have the audacity to ask the public to help pay for his legal costs! WTF!?! Look, the Major is entitled to "due process", and I don't blame him for seeking out the best legal representation availiable, but he (not "The Man"), got himself into this predicament. When he was gettin' his fling on, firing folk who didn't deserve it and blatantly lying under oath, "The Man" wasn't anywhere around. Why should such behavior be rewarded? Pay your own legal costs Mayor.
