Out of curiosity,

What (other than resignation) methods are there for removing the mayor from office? Is being convicted of a felony charge one of them, or could he be mayor from behind bars? Who calls for a recall election, and why hasn't that happened yet?

The mayor , his cronies, family members, and many of the city's civil servants that surround the mayor, are not only narcisstic , thik only of themselves and think (or thought) they are above laws and moral codes, and despite any misdeeds, and misconduct, they still want to hold on to the power, perks, and money that  they have benefitted from or suffer.  Kilpatrick and the others will not admitt to any wrongs, and will continue to tell the public that what they see is not what they really see.  Then again, if the mayor resigns, and goes without his huge salary and expenses, how will his cronies get paid and he pay his high priced attorney fees ?

Well, I have to wonder why yesterday when the Mayor turned himself in, he was riding in a Ford SUV, while today when his EPU staged that elobarate stunt they showed up in the Escolade.

Shows that at times the Mayor can ride in a regular SUV, but he again has to have that expensive SUV for show.

I can not believe that this news station got played and now it is blaming it on the mayor. I was watching this station when the mayors SUV pulled up, and I could not believe that you all thought the mayor was going to get out of the vehicle. Any foul could see that he was already in 36th district court. Now I see on the news that your station is saying that the mayor played a hoax on you and the rest of the media. Now I don't pretend to care whether or not the mayor is guilty or innocent. But I am tried of hearing about how much money it cost tax payers ever time the mayor picks this nose. Someone over there needs to grow up and report the news not fables. I find it hard to believe that you all think that the public is that stupid. The mayor should give it up. He not only is a embarrassment to the city but the whole state. His comments are not only insane but they provoke racial tensions with the purpose of deflecting his guilt by getting the black community to think this is white against black issue.

We, the citizens of Detroit, are tired of outsiders trying to urge us to be so quick to turn on our leaders.  Why not allow justice to take its course?  What happened to 'innocent until proven guilty?'  Many of the people who have attacked the Mayor are liars themselves!  He without sin cast the first stone?  If you preach that Christ forgives us all of our sins and that He died on the cross for each and everyone of us, could He possibly forgive the Mayor for any misdeeds he may have done?

I pray that the family of Tamara Greene gets justice and her murderers, i.e. all involved, are indeed brought to justice.  However, I support due process of law and pray that the evidence finds its way in the hands of fair and impartial jurors of the Mayor and Ms. Beatty's peers not zealots who are bent on seeing these people destroyed!

I just have one question-how much money has the good mayor collected between his defense fund and the churches?  I do hope the people of Detroit were not generous with their offering this past week!

I am a former Michigan resident, had to work so had to move.  I am grateful to Kwame for givng me some much needed entertainment!  Hasn't changed much since I lived there, it's just coming out now.  The hip-hop-hood-rat Mayor might get caught this time-we'll see!
