SING JUBILEE! The Story of the Fisk Jubilee Singers
Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit proudly presents the world premiere of SING JUBLIEE! The Story of The Fisk Jubilee Singers by OyamO. One of the most inspiring stories in African American music, The Fisk Jubilee Singers performed with dignity and grace for mixed audiences, political leaders and royalty at a time when newly freed slaves were still fighting for education, racial equality and basic rights. They sang the “secret songs,” or spirituals, handed down from generation to generation, and their voices kept alive a history of strength, hope and triumph that is still treasured today. Don’t miss this powerful theatrical event, featuring the deeply stirring voices of The Mosaic Singers, at the Detroit Film Theatre this May.

School Matinees
Each year, we invite the faculty and students of the Detroit Public School district to preview the internationally acclaimed Mosaic Acting Company in its much anticipated year-end production. Busses assist in transporting students to and from during the afternoon. Insightful study guides are handed out and talkback sessions are facilitated after the performances. The matinees are always a delight for students, many of whom have their first theatrical experience at a Mosaic show. Reservations required, call (313) 872-6910.
