The Mind Over Matter (MOM) 5K Charity Run/Walk for mental health awareness and suicide prevention is an awesome, pro-active way to advocate for loved ones suffering from  mental illness or to remember those lost to suicide. It’s also a great way to honor your mother, as Mother's Day is Sunday, May 11, 2008. May is also National  Mental Health Awareness Month, so do your part!

Date: Saturday, May 3, 2008
What: 5K charity run/walk to promote mental health awareness & suicide prevention
Time: Race begins at 10:00 a.m.
Location: The race starts/ends at Starr Jaycee Park in Royal Oak, MI. The park is  located just east of Crooks Road on the south side of 13 Mile.  Pre- and post-race  festivities will be held at the large park pavilion.
Registration Fees: $20 for 18 & under, $25 for over 18. Rates valid for participants  who register in online or via mail by April 30, 2008. Same-day registration add $5.  NOTE: Children 12 & under are FREE, but must be accompanied by a registered  parent or guardian.
Additional Race Info: Wheelchairs, strollers, and dogs on leashes are permitted in  the MOM race, but we ask that you be courteous and line up behind the competitive  runners and please clean up after your pets. All registrants will receive a  commemorative race T-shirt and free entry into our post-race raffle loaded with great  prizes. Light refreshments will also be available after the race. All post-race festivities  will take place at the large Starr Jaycee Park pavilion (equipped with restrooms).  Stick around afterwards and ride the FREE Great Lanes Steamers train that runs  through the park from 12-4.
