Clarkston-Area Pastors Association Sponsors Local Observance of National Day of Prayer, May 1
Thursday, May 1, 7-to-9 a.m. - The Clarkston Area Pastors Association is sponsoring their 3rd annual local observance of The National Day of Prayer at St. Daniel Catholic Community's parish hall, The Cushing Center. The event is co-sponsored by Lewis Wint & Son Funeral Home of Clarkston.
Now in its 57th year nationally, National Day of Prayer is for Americans to set aside time to pray for our nation and its leadership: churches, education, family, government, business and civic groups.
Clarkston's keynote speaker is Daphne DeMaris, a licensed professional counselor, clinical pastoral counselor and board-certified Professional Christian Counselor. She will be speaking on "Prayer: It Does a Body Good." She will be joined on the dais by representatives from government, business, churches, education and other community agencies.
Advance tickets, at $7, include breakfast and are available from St. Daniel Parish, (248) 625-1482; or Calvary Lutheran Church, (248) 625-3288. Advance tickets are required for admission.
