The Detroit Historical Society once again is conducting a “Summer of Wonder” raffle featuring prize packages to some of metro Detroit’s signature summertime events and attractions.  The grand prize is a Buick Open package for four people, featuring ground passes and parking for the entire week of activities from June 23-29, courtesy of the Buick Motor Division.

Tickets for the raffle are $1 each, or sold in bundles of 6 for $5, 13 for $10, or 28 for $20.  Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Detroit Historical Museum or Dossin Great Lakes Museum, online at www.detroithistorical.org  or by phone at (313) 833-7938 now through Sunday, June 8th. 

            “This unique raffle offers an opportunity for people to win great prizes to a variety of fun places and entertaining events happening in our area throughout the summer,” said Bob Bury, executive director of the Detroit Historical Society. 

In addition to the grand prize, other prizes in the Summer of Wonder raffle include:

• A Detroit Zoo “Hoppy Day for Four” package which features a curated behind-the-scenes tour of the National Amphibian Conservation Center and a chance to feed a Japanese giant salamander.  Donated by the Detroit Zoological Society

• Two VIP tickets, reserved Judges Stand seat tickets, four pit passes (two for Saturday and two for Sunday) and a parking pass good for two days of racing at the 100^th running of the APBA Gold Cup hydroplane races July 11-13 on the Detroit River.  Donated by the Detroit River Regatta Association

• Two VIP passes good for Saturday, August 30 at the Detroit International Jazz Festival  Donated by the Detroit International Jazz Festival

• Four tickets to the Michigan State Fair valid August 22-September 1 with VIP parking.  Donated by the Michigan State Fair & Exposition Center

• A relaxing day touring the Henry Ford Estate-Fairlane with an evening package at The Dearborn Inn.  Donated by The Dearborn Inn, a Marriott Hotel and the Henry Ford Estate-Fairlane

• Two reserved season tickets for the Wednesday Night Jazz Series at Chene Park Amphitheatre, which runs from June 18 – August 13.  Donated by The Right Productions and Chene Park Amphitheatre

• A group behind-the-scenes tour for 20 people at The Parade Company.  Donated by The Parade Company
  
• A family fun package featuring 10 Laser Quest passes, a My Girly Party gift certificate for a Fab Five Party and four passes to the Joe Dumars Fieldhouse.  Donated by Laser Quest, “My Girly Party” and the Detroit Historical Society

• A Diamond Jack River Tours package for four people.  Donated by Diamond Jack’s River Tours

• A Shipwreck! exhibit package from the Detroit Science Center, including four admissions and tickets to see their current blockbuster, along with a commemorative book, DVD, coin and sun catcher.  Donated by the Detroit Science Center
