Please join us on behalf of Dogs Deserve Better and other local, animal rescue and welfare organizations THIS SATURDAY, JULY 5^TH from 11am-5pm for our very own CHAIN-OFF 2008! Every year around the Independence Day holiday, thousands of people from all 50 states and some Canadian provinces chain themselves to doghouses anywhere from a few hours to an entire weekend to illustrate the absurd cruelty associated with the 24/7, 365 day chained, tethered or penned dog. In support of banning permanent chaining and dispelling the myth of the “outside dog”, we are chaining ourselves for 7 hours THIS SATURDAY to promote awareness and enact changes in the Michigan laws and in the minds of Michigan citizens to support a ban on chaining dogs outside for their entire lives. Dogs are pack animals and truly do DESERVE SO MUCH MORE than “life” on the end of a chain. Our Michigan event will take place THIS SATURDAY, JULY 5^TH, FROM 11AM-5PM AT THE GARDEN CITY PARK IN GARDEN CITY, MI. THE PARK IS LOCATED ON MERRIMAN ROAD, ON THE EAST SIDE, NORTH OF CHERRY HILL ROAD NEAR THE POST OFFICE. PLEASE COME OUT AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!
