I applaud Steve Wilson and the whole investigative team.  Keep on that crook until he's behind bars like all the other criminals.

The big dissapointment here is he is stealing from the people that trusted him and put him in office and he see's nothing wrong with it.

 

Were it not for Steve a murder would be in the cold case files; the city would still be run by THUGS; decent, hard working police officers would be slanderd and without a job to support their families; and the poor people of the city would still be used and classified as gulliber and uneducated.  Grow up and stop beleiving everything that comes out of the THUG mayor lying mouth.  Steve is doing his job and a fine job at that.  He is not kissing up to the THUG.  Besides there is something wrong with you if you don't know how to change your channel or do you have to wait on the THUG mayor and his THUG disciples to dictate to you what you should look at.  Grow up and stop acting like a child who likes having everything your way; like the THUG.

Steve, you are one in a million.  Keep up the good work.  We as citizens of the State of Michigan need to know how all of our tax payers money is being spent; especially doing such a crucial time in our economy. The people of this City are Hungry, Homeless and Tired and have made great sacrificies for Life, Liberty and the PRESUMPTION of Happiness.

Maybe Steve can investigate how many Contracts Minorities/Blacks have in the suburbs; or maybe how Brooks P. avoided all the press when he was caught drunk driving; or the Magistrate that couldn't stand because he was so drunk or how Bills Bonds is still on TV., o'' I see a pattern, maybe if your a Drinker and in office/public, your fine it's only if you lie about having an affair on your wife; or maybe Steve can stop on a few of the Blocks while he's in the Downtown Detroit area and ask the drug dealers on the corners why the sell drugs or maybe he can go a step further and contact Washington and see why the Cruel "Lifetime Campaign Contributor for the Pres., Kennth L." was never "Punished" for taking all those folks money from Enron/Halliburton; or the so-called Priests out here molesting children; OR BETTER YET these COMPOUNDS OUT HERE IN EXISTENCE where children are getting molested everyday and having there bothers/dads/cousins kids, that's Incest, but yet he's focusing his attention on this.  Get real Steve you have bigger fish to fry.

Well said and I agree totally, Let the Justice system handle it, and if not don't pick and choose who to "pick-on"  I'm sick and tired of seeing this on TV all day everyday, Some people need to direct their energy, since they have so much of it into positive things, they act like their so concerned about the City and he's bringing it down, I can bet not even half of them do Volunteer work; Go to the Shelters; Report to Crime Stoppers, etc., the same individuals probably see crimes going on and don't get "involved"  I'd like to know WHAT THEY'VE DONE for the City .... other than have Hatred Thoughts.

Get a grip, he's being charged with Perjury for lying about having an affair.. let the Judicial system handle it, and find something positive and constructive to do.

Actually, using your own words, you "need to get a grip". Kwame is being charged for lying about FIRING two innocent, career police officers, not for having an affair. How concerned were you about their families? He's also being charged for obstruction of justice, as in trying to cover up his crime.

Noticed that you spent most of your workday on the forum. Perhaps, you should follow your own advice and "find something positive and constructive to do", like putting in a day's work for a day's pay.   Lead by Example.

I agree with Chery48, lets move on. Channel 7 is not there any more news worthy issues within the state that you want to harbor on the Mayor of Detroit? It’s getting tiresome now and appears that you have a personal vendetta against the mayor especially Steve. You have mayors through out the state of Michigan and even before this incident; Steve seems to have a microscope on the Mayor. Your station appears to be involved in everything to pick him apart. Let this judicial system do, what you have in place to do. Some say he “perjured” himself, okay he lied about an “alleged” affair maybe to protect  his family. Our federal government lied about a lot of things to get us in war that’s costing us billions of dollars and a lot of lives. What gets me is that everyone is so brain washed that they complain about what’s going on in Detroit, don’t live here, but everyone pays federal taxes and you get less complaints about world affairs. However, this is our country’s history, over look what some do, paint it with a brighter picture (a lie) or a good explanation and make it justifiable. Just think of how much of our history is a lie. If Channel 7 needs some news to report, put a microscope on some of the other mayors within the state, dig through city council members and see how many of their friends and family have gain favors and avoided brushes with law that the rest of us don’t have privy to. Especially, those that are getting a lot of free press. What “we” in Detroit should do to settle all matters is have a special mayoral election to let the people of “Detroit” decide. Channel 7, most (if not all) of your newscast don’t even live in the city of Detroit. Channel 7 help with other issues in our state, job loss, home foreclosures, help get some of these felons employed, homelessness and helping our elderly. We don’t have that many large businesses in Detroit and Detroiters go to the other cities on a daily basis and spend their money. Not many come to the city and spend theirs but they sure have a lot to say.

I don't think you agreed with Cheryl48.  She (I) posted a long list of mayors that have run into problems. Kwame, as the mayor of a large city, is certainly not under any more scrutiny than they are/were. If not for Steve Wilson and the media, Kwame would still be taking trips with the Carmen Slowskis of the world on the taxpayer's dollar as if there were none of the problems you mentioned in the city and surrounding area.

As Detroit goes, so goes the metropolitan area.

Once again this is not a forum about forclosures, unemployed felons, job loss, or the others you mentioned. All of these topics are valid and hurting the Detroit Metropolitan Area. I'm sure there are forums that address these issues. Perhaps you can brainstorm with those members to come up with positive actions. Here we discuss the mayor and his actions... a public responsibility in a democracy.

Unfortunately, you are forgetting that the officers in question spent four jobless years with their names besmirched and no chance of a job recommendation from their long term prior employer. All for doing their sworn job! They deserve every penny!

The people who fired them and lied about it deserve to be jobless without recommendations now! There may be things that the mayor is innocent of until proven guilty, but the firing and lying is impossible to deny.

No matter how much the technicality game is played by the multiple out of state lawyers that Kwame has hired but can't afford, fact are facts and his mayorship is FOREVER tainted. If he truly cared about the city and people of Detroit, he would have left months ago. Christine Beatty knew her effectiveness had ended. She is much smarter than Kwame. I understand his office is suffering without her skills.
