We're cutting back and doing what we can to conserve, but you keep increasing the rate on gas and electric.  When do we win for change?  I need to pull all my bills out and count the number of increases in the last 2 years.  This nation is doing nothing but price us out of everything.  I can only imagine what this state and the rest of the country is going to look like in the next 5 years.

Re: Welcome to the Detroit Deals Forum

I have a suggestion for don't waste your money.  I work on my own vehicles and it amazing the different prices for a product. An example is I needed front wheel bearings for my car so I called around.  "Do you want one year gaurantee, 2 year or life time gaurantee?"  The price for the same product and many differnt prices.  So I just take the lower end and see what another auto parts sell them for, there are big differences prices.  My vehicle quit on the way home from work .  being late I had it towed in and picked up the next day.  They said that I needed another fuel pump which was located in the tank.  When I asked for the old one back they said there was a $30 exchange for the part.  Later on I found out that was not true.  Another issues is what are they going to charge you for labor.  $75 an hour to me sounds outrages

I see that currently there is a news item running in regards to saving money at the pump when you use your Meijer's credit card.  However, Kroger's has a much better deal it is possible to save .10 .20 .30 .40 or even .50 a gallon based on the amount spent on groceries you already purchased while using your Kroger card the previous month.  You must have a Kroger card (store discount card) and there are some excluded items like tobacco and alcohol, also it is comulative from previous month's shopping and you must fill up at Kroger gas station.

Re: Welcome to the Detroit Deals Forum

I filled my car with gas for $3.87 / gal yesterday( Tues. 5/20), and yes as you reported on the news tonight prices are already leaping. The same gas station was $3.99 today.  But what I found really outrageous, and which you did not report tonight (Wed. 5/21) when you were showing prices around the state, was the gas stations surrounding DTW Metro Airport were priced today at $4.19 / gal !!!  That is an outrageous ripoff!! So don't wait until you get to the airport to fill an empty tank on your rental car or for that matter be anywhere near the airport in your own car with an almost empty tank . . . or you will then travel with an empty wallet!
