Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

What about the officers that had their lives ruined because of the Mayor?  I wonder if you spoke up for them back when they were fighting to keep their dignity?

What about the lady that was killed? Do you feel sorry for her YOUNG SON?? Yes, the mayor is a man,  but is he a Big enough man to omit he did Detroit wrong? He keeps making it look like this was someone else's fault and He needs to take some kind of responsibilty for his actions!

I sure hope Kym was able to get hotel records for Oct 2003 to back up her investigation.  Wake up Detroit

I don't think the Mayor is just a man I think he is a Thug, who is no different  from the ones they pick up for various crimes.  Let"s not forget that he has committed perjury and not to mention that he and his hussy are probably responsible for the strippers death.  Oh no he's not capable of all that because he is just a man.l  You are stupid and probably one of the ones that voted him in and will again if you have a chance.  You deserve all you get.  If you think God doesn't care about his perjury and all his lies you are really mislead, for he cannot stand sin of any kind.  Let's not fool ourselves!

Please know that we would like the Governor to act quickly on removing Kwame Kilpatrick from office. We would hate to see more turmoil for the state of Michigan. Please Gov. Granholm make a stand and do the right thing for the people and our children of this state. We want people to move back here and why would anyone want to when we have people in charge we can not trust or look up too. It is sad what is happening here in Michigan as it is. Do not let the media drag us all through the mud with Kilpatrick. We do not need a O.J. Simpson Circus nor do we want the city to turn out like the Rodney King fiasco. We should learn from our past. Enough is enough. Please do the right thing for ALL of Michigan. Please let us keep some of our integrity that Mayor Kilpatrick has not. Nip this in the bud NOW to avoid a division of the people. Detroit does not need some one like him as a political leader! Sincerely,  D. S. Marsh, Port Huron, MI

Re: It is time for the Mayor to step down

If the Mayor was any kind of a gentlemen he would do the right thing and resign.

The city has paid enough for his lies, waste of money and criminal ways.

This reminds me of the O.J. Simpson case.  Hire the best attorney so he could get off.

We all know he commited the crime.

Please, people I beg for your calmness of mind, also clearness of head. You must understand that when (insert Coleman A. Young accent here) "Kwamie" hizzonor maya city Troit, is standing naked before guardsmen in a penitentiary, when he is told to turn around, bend over, spread his rump cheeks and cough. Nothing untoward is happening here! He is not being introduced to the penile system! He is being Decommisioned, as he did to the 3 policemen. Nothing to see here. What are you looking at? Haven't you seen a 400lb. Thug, exmayor of a once great American city being Decommisioned? What are you lookin@?

Restricted Mayor???? Who ever heard of one?

This mayor was just told he can not leave Michigan without prior permission.  And he is not allowed to leave the United States at all.

So what if something important happens ex: involving auto industry, Canada, tunnel project etc. that requires the Mayor of the Motor City to leave the US.  We have to wait for him to contact his lawyers, then courts and see if he can get permission, before he could go.   This alone is enough in my opinion for him to step down.  We need him to be effective in WHATEVER and WHEREEVER  the city might need him to.  Maybe this is why other officials step down before indictments?  They care about their city/state.

Um....why is this Granholm and Granholm alones problem? First of all... you need to familize yourself with the law. This is not a dictatorship. As convinced as most rational people are, that he is a criminal, he has not been convicted of anything. City Council needs to take a stronger stand THOSE people have been elected to run Detroit.

Jennifer Granholm did not appoint Kwame, he was elected (supposedly) by the people of Detroit. Frankly, after the number of posters on this site claiming Kwame is God's man and they are standing behind him (half the city could be standing behind his big ass and you wouldn't see them). I am getting to the point where I am starting to think that the City of Detroit, and it's citizens DESERVE him. Maybe we just need to stop feeding our money into the city... let them support themselves. Afterall, Kwame's friend Malik Shabazz, the New Black Panther Party, and as we have seen, members of the Nation of Islam (Louis Ferrakan's goons) are who he is aligning himself with. Let the city have him and all of the racists he calls his friends.

By the way, if you have ever seen Granholm when she has to be within 10 feet of the thug, you can just see how she loathes him. Who wouldn't?

Before you say it, Governor Granholm is in her second term, she can not be re-elected, so she is not politically motivated to leave Kwame the Salami in office. It is just a matter of letting our justice system do it's thing.

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

Sure, the Mayor may have lied about these things, but what right does the press and the public have to convict and persecute him before he is even tried by a jury of his peers. The same goes for his  Chief of staff.

The City Council should be held accountable for their part in paying out the lawsuit too fast.  They should have thought this process through very carefully before any monies was paid out. I feel they paid too fast. Which brings another question, Why did they pay right away.  Most lawsuits take years before any money is approved to be paid. It seems that none of them even questioned the fact that so much of the taxpayers HARD EARNED DOLLARS was just sqandered off like the city has millions to throw around.

Now they are sitting back and asking for the Mayor's resignation. They haven't done a very good job themselves. All they do is argue and fight all the time.

As far as them holding back money from the Mayor and the city, the same should be for the as well. They (City Council) has demonstrated that they can't manage the city's finances either. Everyone needs to leave the Mayor alone and let the jury find him guilty or innocent or whatever the case maybe.

I think this situation is going to get real messy before it is all over with and The City Council should be on trial too for paying the money so fast with no investigation of their own.

How 'bout all the people north of 8 Mile and the rest of the state just boycott Detroit totally?  Who's going to go to the DIA, Fisher Theater, the Fox, baseball, football, etc, etc.  Who do you think supports these places...Detroiters alone?  No Way, Jose!

Who cares who he do. That is a matter between him and his wife. Christine Beatty did not get 10 million. The money was paid and approved by City Council, they should be the ones the media should harass.

He thought of his wife as well, think of all the perks she has enjoyed since he's  been in office. She knows what kind of man she has. Hell her hormones are probably raging to. She just havn't been caught.

All I want is  my taxes lowered.

You think if I can get a lawsuit against the city that I could be paid that fast?

Many of your questions have been answered repeatedly in previous posts.  But, I'll break some of them down for you.  First, the whistleblower lawsuit had already been dragging on for more than several years.  So, this was NOT an overnight decision on anybodies part.  Secondly, the council made their decision BASED ON THE DOCUMENTS THEY WERE GIVEN!!They were not anticipating that their mayor was LIEING THROUGH HIS TEETH!  This is why THEY TOO, ARE UPSET and now AUDITING PRIOR CONTRACTS OVER $5,000.00.  Prior to Mr. Archer, the city council APPROVED any and all contracts.  As for leaving the mayor alone.  Taxpayers have a RIGHT to KNOW EVERYTHING where their LIVES AND FINANCES are concerned AND VOICE THEIR OPINION.  At least, that's what the Constitution tells us.  If you don't like it, GET OFF THE BOARD!!!!!!!!!!
