It sure woke me up, it was a local Salem, OR radio station.  Not exactly a big market.

    Re: Granholm, again...

My two cents, I believe the Governor wanted to leave the decision to remove KK up to the people, (or their local elected reps.) ideally, the ones who elected him, should be the ones to remove him.  Of course the Governor monitors the situation in Detroit,  she,  no doubt understands that should Mayor Kilpatrick continue to self-destruct, people will  be looking for her to step-in. I'm positive Governor Granholm when, if its required is up to the challenge. Coleman Youngs  gone to that great City Hall in the Sky,  long, long, ago, (over 20 years, I think, you could bring up a slew of politicians, living and dead, black and white and the rumors, accusations, scandels, potentional skeletons in closets. When do we let people rest in peace?  NEVER

    Mr. Cockrel,

-The 'MOTOR' in the 'MOTOR CITY' has 'STALLED'! And it is vital, to the utmost, that things of substantially signifigant value to the citizens of Detroit be (quickly) inacted!

-If this city is going to survive and become viable for the reversal of people leaving this region of America...There 'MUST' be an (advertised) active movement of plans that the people...who actually 'ARE' the city can relate to 'positively'...that which can quell the dissatisfaction that resonates throughout!

-Action 'MUST' be orchestrated away from and aside from the problems surrounding the Mayor! Everyone is always saying that 'WE' must move forward!...Which is true, but a 'Stalling car' can't move and needs a infrastructual 'TUNE UP' to operate efficiently!

'MOVE FORWARD' toward 'WHAT'?...Why isn't the council table 'FULL' with actually addressing the needs of the people...allowing themselves to aggressively pursue ideas that can produce economic and social change?

Close observation of the City, as a whole, has revealed a number of (Newly) 'FAILED' business ventures...'Club' closings, the closing down of 'Asian Village', Home foreclosures, Job Losses, People pulling out of Loft & Condo agreements, etc.

This is 'YOUR' (Council) opportunity to 'TUNE UP' the climate of this city...regardless to what's going on with the Mayor...for as a bit of advice, the Mayor's Trouble can & possibly will reflect on the 'WHOLE COUNCIL' at election time. You all 'MUST' aim to stand alone in the future progress & re-vitalization of this city!

Things have reached the point of serious 'DISGUST' with the residents of Detroit, as well as, people around the entire country and world!...Money is needed to be overwhelmingly flowing throughout Wayne County to change the worldwide opinion about Detroit!

Accepting, processing and producing some of the 'MONEY GENERATING' ideas which would 'SERVE' the people of this city is the 'ONLY WAY'!

Selling the Detroit portion of the 'Detroit/Windsor' Tunnel will prove to be a real life 'Shot in the foot'!...That would be a 'MONUMENTAL' mistake!

-The 'TUNNEL', the 'GOLF COURSE' and other things having been attempted to be sold are 'RIDICULOUS' concepts! 'WHY' didn't you sell the 'DETROIT ZOO' (which exists outside of Detroit)?...It could still exist as a Zoo...just not as a financial drain to the city of Detroit!...People that patronize it would still go there!

'All' monies available (at this time) should be aimed toward actually creating 'JOBS' through striking up everyones interests with different forms of Family Entertainment!...(It's the easiest way)...Since Detroit has a fading reputation as a Party Town...Different forms of Entertainment has always proven throughout this country as a means to generate money (and quell unrest). Other business ventures 'WILL FOLLOW'!

(For Example) 'BELLE ISLE' could be (as I pointed out in my multi-page letter sent to each one of the Council members) a 'CASH COW'! It could & certainly would produce so much revenue that it, by itself, would serve as a year round destination point...for many miles around Detroit!...(Milked Everyday) Producing revenue...Not unlike the Billions spent outside of Detroit, traveled to and issued out by Detroiters themselves...(FACT) Those suburban places have things which strike their interests! And to not strike the interests of your own people so that they would be inclined to spend their money in their own home town is to 'STRIKE OUT'!

-I visited 'HOUSTON, TEXAS' last year and have absolutely no idea what 'Kwame Kilpatrick' is talking about when he came back here and announced that 'HOUSTON' doesn't have anything on Detroit!...(WHATEVER!)

Well, I have relatives who live there...paying only $1,100 a month for a spank brand new 3000+ sq. foot home...5,000 people move into the city every single week...'HOUSTON' is NUMBER 1 in Nation for Jobs, Schooling, Housing, Dining, Entertainment, etc....And 'WHY'?...Because the city believes in itself, the city invests in itself, the city promotes itself and the city prides itself!...Actually, there is 'TOO MUCH' there to do!...But, the success of it all rests on the Idea that they try their best to serve the tastes of all people!

They have thought enough 'NOT' to tear down the vacant 'ASTRODOME'...as opposed to the 'HISTORICALLY REGISTERED' Tiger Stadium!

And, guess what? They are Number One (1) in the country for many reasons (even) 'WITHOUT' the existence of 'City or State Taxes' taken out of their 'JOB PRODUCED' checks!...(go figure)

If nothing is going to be done here then expect the Book-Cadillac and any other substantial venture all to 'FAIL'!...Hell...'TOYOTA' is Number One (1) now...Not 'GM'...Move on...'ENTERTAINMENT' (of all sorts) needs to be our main gross local product (to begin with)!

You need to now allow for all of the indictments against the Mayor to play itself out! The 'Mayor' is doing a great job at hanging himself...'ALL BY HIMSELF'!...his situation has a life of it's own that is not going to get away from you with so many other governing bodies involved!...'MOVE ON'! Tend to the everyday 'PEOPLE' (TAXPAYERS) of Detroit! (Seriously) Drive around all areas & feel the 'NEGATIVE PULSE' that thumps through the veins of the contengancy of this city!

    Then...'ACT'!

    Mr. Otha Bender

(P.S.:) And it would not hurt for some of each council members time while on 'HIATUS' be spent to plan...plan and plan, so that when 'FULL SESSION' resumes those 'POSITIVE' plans can then be the 'FIRST & FOREMOST' agenda 'til the 'MOTOR' of Detroit starts up again and begins 'MOVING'!

Note: "THIS CITY IS IN CRISIS'!...It's 'DYING'!
Question: What is a Doctor's 'OBLIGATION/DUTY' that he 'SHOULD' attempt to do when faced with a patient who comes into his office and discovers that the person is dying?...(THINK ABOUT IT!)

    Re: Oops!!!

Unfortunately, "little" is the operative word.  I don't think Judge Jackson ever really intended to keep Kwame in jail. His performance this morning was simply posturing. He definitely did his homework last night. He obviously spent several hours reviewing the relevant law as did Kwame's lawyers.  Unfortunately, the county's attorney apparently spent no time researching petinent law after the previous day's proceedings in Judge Giles' court.  He was completely unprepared.  He was unable to respond to a single point of law.  All he did was reiterate the facts of the case, of which all the attorneys, including Judge Jackson, were well aware.  He was obviously outclassed by both attorneys and the judge.  Therefore, it was incumbent upon him to work harder than anyone else because he lacked the skill of the others.  In stead, he did not and thus gave Judge Jackson just the opportunity he needed to let Kwame off the hook.  Judge Jckson used a very narrow interpretation of the law to get Kwame out of a much deserved jail sentence.  Doing that was obviously more important than upholding Judge Giles eminently appropriate sentence. And so it goes, more playing politics at the expense of the people of Detroit, Wayne County, and the Sate of Michigan.  Judge Jackson may have fooled some, he may have fooled a lot with his posturing.  I was not fooled.

Oh, and a word to Kim Worthy, never let that lazy and modestly competent prosecutor handle another felony case.  The stakes are much too high.  He seems suited to handle only misdemeanors.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say with all that has been going on you can't keep up. Yesterday's hearing was an appeal on the ruling BY Judge Giles. Kilpatrick's attorney's tried to get it done immeadiately after the Judge's decision. And they were denied, so yesterdays events were necessary. The "Letter of the Law" is quite explicit. And the descretion is entirely up to the Judge that presides over the case put before them. Judge Jackson did exactly what he should have. He re-enforced the stipulations of the previous ruling. Re-set a cash bond, and stated when all the criteria is met then, and only then will the Defendant be released from custody.

[Note.. Defendant] So I don't feel as though Kilpatrick or his attorney's got away with anything. Yesterdays preceedings left them $75,000 in the hole. And if the moron chooses to violate any provisions of his circumstances that will be forfeited just like the first $7,500. So it won't be long now. Hopefully they will waive the arraignment on the 15th and go straight to the trial. Kilpatrick's attorney's are between a rock and a hard place. And AG Cox has the key to his cell. And it is ALL Kilpatrick's doing, this time he can't blame ANYONE but himself.

    Re: Oops!!!

Make that $52,500, I forgot that the 36th District Court was 10% of the $25,000. Either way it goes if he steps on his private parts again, he goes back to JAIL.

If he was white he would have left like all the other politician that's been caught in the wrong.  That's class but K.K. is a thug so that's why we are in the mess we are in.  He should not be in no position to layoff anybody in the city because he's mad that the tunnel deal didn't go thru.

I really hate repeating myself. In order for Kilpatrick to resign, HE HAS TO ADMIT THAT HE DID SOMETHING WRONG. AND HE STILL IS NOT READY TO DO THAT YET !!!!!! AND color has nothing to do with that. Abuse of power is just that abuse of power. But you can rewind that tape for oh about 232 years, and maybe you will find that your blanket statement does not apply.

The preamble to the Constituition begins with the first (3) three words in big bold letters "We The People". And history consistently confirms that it only applied to a certain few at the time it was written. Since then the words have been modified to include others. So if you are angry with Kilpatrick don't use color as an excuse as to why this is happening.

As I stated before we are not dealing with a person that acknowledge the law we are dealing with a thug so thru the eyes of a thug (black or white) this is the outcome.  They don't look at the Constitution that don't exist in their mind.  He don't include hisself as "We The People" because he thinks he is GOD.  He's in another equation. He's a Thug Nut.
