I totally agree with this statement!

We hold our Sports people accountable for everything they do!  Why not Mr. Kilpatrick(or shall I say Kwame)  He doesn't deserve the respect of being called Mr. at all!  You earn respect and when you do these kinds of things(like lying under oth)

What kind of example is this to our very young children?  I'm a firm believer that once a lier always a lier!  If one lies under oth about having an affair, what else is he lying about?

I seen the breaking news interviews with the people being interviewed and one woman said"Oh, he shouldn't be judge on this subject.  This is his private life!"  Well once he became the Mayor of Detroit, he became the publics life too!  He represents Detroit & he should give the people of Detroit more respect than this!  And for his family!  He himself is asking for respect for them now!

Well Kwame, you should have thought of this before you purgered yourself and disrespected the thing called Marriage!  Don't turn this around and make it look like the public is slamming your family, you did this all on your own!

And for Ms. Beatty!  Shame on you!  This was a whole family you are getting into the middle of!  You were only thinking of yourself and yourself only!  Both of you should be ashame  of yourselves!  Lier Lier pants on fire!!!!!!

Poor Kwame? Poor Detroit Taxpayers! Poor police officers who lost their jobs due to Kwame & friend's conniving! How sorry are you Kwame? Sorry enough to make financial amends to all? I feel sorry for his family-but that is no reason to excuse his behavior.

The only thing I have to say Is....What u do in the Dark will come to light on day. Today is just one of those days for Mr. Mayor.  I just feel really bad for his Wife. If Bill Clinton lost his job, then MR.PLAYER (THE MAYOR) SHOULD LOSS HIS JOB AS WELL. YOUR BUSTED.

So, Kwame's house of cards finally imploded. HA. I really dont care who is fooling around with at all. Thats between him and his wife. What I care about is him lying, under oath. He has cost the city millions. And what is more...he keeps on lying. This morning he said he and his wife dealt with this 5-6 years ago. Ok...right. If that were the case...why would he lie about it at all. And, if that were really ture, if his wife really knew...I highly doubt Ms. Beatty would still be an employee. I really hope the morons that reelected this fool are happy with themselves. That 9 million could have been put towards his precious cobo expansion...but thats ok us suburban tax payers will foot the bill.

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

Lying in court at the expense of two Police Officers jobs is blatant abuse of power.  No one is above the law and legal action should be taken.  If the Mayor does step down, legal proceedings should continue, especially if criminal activity is at the heart of this investigation.  Curious to this writer is how did these apparently private text messages become public?  Were they "hacked" in some way?  And, isn't that also illegal?  There seems to be a lot more to be uncovered.  I wish you all well (news folks and the people of Detroit) in completing this investigation.

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

How sad for the people of Detroit.  They are held hostage by liars and opportunists not only in their city government, but also their school board, police force, etc.  If this isn't enough to get them to revolt against those who have the utmost control over their lives.....what will it take? People need to consider how many individuals were involved in this cover-up. That is what boggles my mind.  Do something, people of Detroit.  Take your city back!

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

With all of the problems facing Detroit, how can the mayor be affective in his role of leader when he is a proven liar? What kind of example is he setting for his children and the children of Detroit? He clearly has no respect for our judicial system or the office and city he is supposed represent. He is a national embarressement and should be removed from office. His wife should kick his sorry butt out of the mansion and move on with her life.

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

I am more concerned with the President of the United States lying about there being weapons of mass destruction in the middle east with thousands of humans lives being lost, than the Mayor of Detroit lying about having consenting sex.

As for Steve Wilson what is your motive behind your drive to bring down the mayor of Detroit, is Detroit your hometown?  If not why not investigate your mayor, If you look long and hard like you did for the mayor of Detroit, I am sure you will find something as much or equal to what you found in Detroit.

    Jpepper:

The mayor stated he had already told his wife years ago and they had worked through the problems. Then why did he lie under oath last year?

Jpepper, that's an EXCELLENT question! It depends upon how much he actually told her. That is between the two of them but as far as lying under oath and making us pay for it, THAT is between US, the taxpayers and him. He has alot to answer to starting right at home and moving on into our homes.

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

This arrogant person has ruined careers, lives, and the trust some people place in him

It is time that he is held accountable - just as any other official. His license to practice law should be revoked - it is lawyers like him who ruin the profession. She should never get a license.

Every deal that he has made is subject to question because you cannot believe him. He has repeatedly lied.

The FBI should reopen the investigation into the "party" and the death of a young woman. You cannot believe his story at all and obviously those around him lie to cover up and keep their jobs.

Detroit needs a leader who is honest and who will make the very best decisions for the city. This guy needs to be fired/recalled. His practices stink. We deserve better for the amount he gets paid.

Furthermore, we need to get rid of "the mansion" we can't afford it. Until Coleman Young the mayor lived in their own residence, paid their own taxes, and bills. That is the way it should be.

Money needs to be spent to clean up the neighborhoods, and to provide better education for our children.

    GET RID OF HIM NOW.

I live here and pay more taxes than ever, have watched my property devalue over $30000. in two years, and have very few city services. Just try to get a cop - you'll wait forever.

Lets give him a fair trial, then send him to jail. I'm sure he will make someone a good "WIFE".
