    Re: Dream Cruise Memories

I won't forget the awful noise that has been going on since May, as Cruisers loiter in parking lots and drive their filthy and noisey cars up and down Woodward, aggravating residents and small businesses. This needs to stop.

    Re: Dream Cruise Memories

I agree with smorgan.  It's all about the cars and the people.  I haven't missed the official Woodward cruise since its inception back in '95.  The fun of these muscle, street and exoctic automobiles is driving them on Woodward well before the "official" event, this Saturday.  I just came back from enjoying a couple of hours of cruising Woodward, eventually parking at the Shell station, just north of 13 1/2 mile.  The owner of the station is car friendly.  Met a lot of nice people there.  Bumped into George DeLorean (brother of the famed John DeLorean, who was instrumental with putting Pontiac on the muscle car scene).  George is a down to earth car guy.  This man, back in the 80's recurved the distributor for my '65 Vette.   A real pleasure to have bumped into him tonight.

    Cruise on!!

    Re: Dream Cruise Memories

Give me a break.  No one would care if it only happened for 2 days every year but it doesn't.

This year the cruising and gathering started in May.  I know because Woodward Ave is directly behind my backyard fence.

    Re: Dream Cruise Memories

Most local business have their best week of the year, leading up to the cruise. Filthy cars??? Are you sure you were at the Dream Cruise? For the most part, all I saw was the most beautiful....clean, highly polished vehicles from all across the country. As for us cruisers....Loitering, and dropping millions of dollars into your local economy.....Well....I think that speaks for itself. Somehow I don't believe the Woodward Ave. Dream Cruise will be going away any time soon. It's ashame you can't enjoy this....like the other 1.2 million people who came out did.

One final comment....I would like to say "Thank You" to all of the communities involved...I felt they really rolled out the red carpet, and welcomed all of us to their community. Once again....Thanks!

What a waste of time this event is. People thinking their celebraties driving around in these gas guzzling coffins. This is one of the most useless things that goes on in this state. I'm not a tree hugger but, this is waste of gasoline and definetly not helping are enviroment. It's time to give up the past an get a life. I can't figure out what is so exciting about watching potbelly white guys driving around in old cars at five miles an hour acting like their James Dean is all about?  What a joke!

Maybe if you did your research ( honestly) you would see that whites are held accountable too. Get off your Racist high horse. You want to know why the world is still racist? It's because of people like you who swear that race has to do with everything.

    give me a break!

Also let's move this back to the proper forum and not try to hide from everyone what ya crying about. This thread here is about the dream cruise.

    Re: Dream Cruise Memories

I am a 30 year old that owns one of those filthly and noisey muscle cars.  My parents cruised woodward in the 60's with those same cars.  People could be doing much worse than hanging out in a parking lot.  Give me a break and quit crying like a little girl.
