The story airing today about the young people who drew with chalk downtown Mt. Clemens left something important out. These young people created a beautiful mural on the cement floor of the fountain downtown on Macomb Street with children’s sidewalk chalk (washes off with water). The pictures the Sheriffs Department showed was messy graffiti that was from other people long after the mural was done. The ones who drew the mural were charged with a misdemeanor. They were never told they could not do this and in fact were drawing in broad daylight with lots of spectators who said it was great and too bad it would wash off.
