The position of mayor is suppose to be one of prestige,"mayor" kilpatrick was unequivocal in his answers when being questioned about his "alleged" affair with christine beatty. now that his misconduct has resurfaced with proof, he doesnt want to discuss it. the process of  impeachment should start immediately.  can you please tell me how many signatures are needed to start this process?

Yes he did make love to Beatty, the woman in the loft, and weman at the PARTY

He also stopped Dr Anderson's Project, because he could not make a side deal

How much money did he start this job with.

how many millions do he have now

he's a greedy man,and the people of Detroit just keep paying

It's time for him to go.

I think we have had enough

I believe he should get in trouble for purgery.  Him and her lied.  I don't care if he was having problems at home.  Thats no excuse for lying.  He doesn't know how to tell the trueth.  Impeachment.  Look at President Clinton and lying.

This screams impeachment.  He has been caught lying so many times.  Maybe this time he (and Christine) will finally be brought to justice.

I understand the mayor has messed up on several occasions in several different ways. I understand the city is not happy with his perfomance. However, I think that broadcasting his text messages is going too far. I think that his family needs to be left alone. How do we think that his kids are doing, knowing that these messages are now plastered all over the tv, newspaper, and internet. Let the families deal with this situation privately. It's really none of our business. Let's stick to the issues that actually have a real effect on Detroit.

Kwame should resign.  He should be prosecuted for perjury.  Why the people of Detroit re-elected him in 2005 I will never know.  The man is totally corrupt.

Why is everyone so surprised? He showed his hand during his first term. If the local public weren't such 'sheep' in their name recognition voting he would not have been re-elected in the first place and we would not have blown all that lawsuit money and all the other monies his administration has squandred.

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

    ok everyone,

The Mayor of Detroit is just  a man... he was a man before he became the mayor .. and he will be one after his term is over. You did not elect him for is intimate behaviors or prowess .. which has nothing to do with what he has done thus far for Detroit.. and hopefully will have the opportunity to  complete. What goes on is someones marriage and private life , no  matter their status ,should be just  that private..because everyone makes bad judgements in life  and no one is perfect...but the issues that  have come into question because of old text messages  are just sad.

Everyone need to remember that  both parties involved have small children..How would you fill if your children had to be subjected to ridicule and taunting because of an issue that happened in your past?Ok i guess to the media this was something  that needed to be told. Because i guess maybe there was nothing more relevant or important to share in their eyes. We honestly need to ask ourselves, If the shoe was on the other foot and these current issues were ours, How would we feel?

Because  as i stated before he is only  a man...don't judge anyone  unless you  would like to be looked upon in the same manner....I know that he was sworn to uphold and protect  and honor Detroit ... and so far  he has done that. As far as breaking his marital vows  that is between his wife, his pastor, hisself and most of all GOD  not the City of Detroit

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

The People of Michigan deserve to have a moyor that is truthful and responsible. Our mayor has failed to be either of these things during his term. I agree things are getting a little personal, but we are seeing these due to his untrthfulness under oath. I agree that he should step down as mayor of Detroit.

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

Isn't perjury a felony?  Isn't perjury and a felony punishable with jail time?  Forget the relationship junk - focus on the perjury part of this.  We normal citizens would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and put in jail and have that record with us for the rest of our lives.  What makes Mayor K, Bill Clinton, Mike Cox - any of those elected officials above the law they swore to uphold?  I don't cry impeachment - I cry criminal activity.  Arrest these people - prosecute these people - make the system work equally for everyone.  That is what America says it does.  By letting these people off, it proves to everyone that the criminal justice system is not fair.

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

Kwame is corrupt.  Kwame needs to step down as mayor or be fired/empeached.  The man has no morals and cannot show that the needs of the city of Detroit is forefront in his pointy head.  Keep the news casts going.  It is an embarassment to the man..fine.  What he has done is an embarassment to the city of Detroit.  What was done with the Escalade.  What has been done with him using police units at the school that his kids attend.  What has been done by him using the Detroit police units at his erstwhile parties.   Come on people of Detroit.  How much more can you put up with a "Dirty" Mayor.
