    Pot Hole Patrol

It's that time of year again...where are the worst pot holes in your area and what kind of damage have they done to your vehicle?

    Re: Pot Hole Patrol

Thankfully I haven't hit a really nasty pot hole yet, but the junction from Van Born road in dearborn heights to the Southfield north service drive has a series of craters in the right lane that could eat a truck tire.  they're in the center of the lane but meander to the left as you drive along.  Stay in the left lane to avoid it.

When all else fails, read the directions.

The section of Orchard Lake between 14 Mile Rd and Maple in West Bloomfield is the worst I've seen anywhere! Worse than any 3rd world country I've been to!

I drive through this section it every day terrified of busting my tires in any of its foot-deep potholes that are impossible to avoid! Considereing West Bloomfield's high taxes and Oakland's "richest county" status, it begs a question, where do our taxes go??? What's up with this picture???

Residents of West Bloomfield, please SPEAK UP!

the worst area that i have seen so far in my area is. where I-94 and I-696 intersect. the bridges and overpasses, exit and enterance for 11 mile are horriable. and there is noway of avoiding them whit doing damage. also the 11 mile service drive between Gratiot and I-94 could use some work. 12 mile from Harper all the way to Hayes including the railroad track on 12 mile. these two area is where do most of my travels during the week and by day and by week they seem to be getting worst. I would be nice to see our taxes do some good. espacially since that's one of the reasons they say the gas prices are so high to help with paying for road repair so where are these so called repairs.

    Re: Pot Hole Patrol

I hit a giant pothole that instantly flattened my tire, as well as 5 other people who were pulled over changing their tires, on southbound Dequindre just north of Aubrun. I got out and changed it. The spare was a little low, so i was on my way to the gas station and hit another huge pothole on Auburn just barely west of Ryan. I couldn't even pull into the 7-11 because it was down to the rim. There was a tow truck there helping another guy.
So I got out to call to check the street signs at the intersection so I knew the cross streets and called my roadside assistance. As I passed the tow truck driver, he said he's just been chillin in the parking lot all morning because people keep hitting the same pothole and told me to pull in. UGH!
As the tow truck was taking me to Discount Tire, I saw more cars and tow trucks at that first pothole. I got the reuglar tire fixed and had to let them throw away the spare.

    Re: Pot Hole Patrol

There is a pot whole on Dexter street in Detroit, just north of the lodge Freeway on the north bound side.  If there is on coming traffic from the south bound side, then it is difficult to avoid the pot whole while driving north bound.  The pot whole encloses a metal and square man whole cover.  Yesturday while driving, I was unable to avoid going into the pot whole and the corner of the man whole cover flattened my tire and bent my rim. Ouch!!!  I imagine this will cost me several hundered dollars to have this repaired.  (Incident happened 5/5/08 around 3:45pm)
