Re: Kwame's Friday Hearing
LA Keen:
Hi Kathy,
It's me LA Keen. I'm okay. However, Tenatita is so worried that if KK was to appear in court at his regularly scheduled time at 10 am, that her morning tv programs would be interuppted. I find that frivilous.
The other point is that I am so upset about, is the fact that he was called to appear at a certain time and KK wanted that time changed. And evidently, the court changed the time to meet his needs. Any other person wouldn't be given such preferential treatment. That's all.
I certainly wouldn't want to have a heart attack over Kwame Kilpatrick.
I appreciate your care and your concern. :o)
Good. I know some people are addicted to their programs but this is SO HUGE, you can interrupt me any time. so much depends on it. KW is right we must seat a visiting judge in and while we are at it maybe a visiting City Council. I like the CC and think they have a thankless job but what is happening to the City.attack them, talk about politics. Still no one to build the FAMILY tree in City Hall. That would be good for Steve Wilson to dig into, I bet they would come up with a forrest of diseased trees!!

Is Conyers supporting Mayor? While surfing the mayor's Justice Fund website we came across this picture of Mayor Kilpatrick with Rev. Al Sharpton and City Councilwoman Monica Conyers. Is this another case of the Kilpatrick people using others names and images without permission or did they do this with the blessing of Councilwoman Conyers in particular. If she did approve of it is this the proper place for a sitting Councilwoman to be when she is supposed to be an unbias decision maker and working on behalf of all the people of Detroit. It certainly would explain some of her previous comments on the mayoral scandal. Conyers voted for the settlement and has made recent statements questioning the council investigation and chastising the attorney for the whistleblowers. Ethics appears to be one of many challenges for Conyers. Councilwoman Conyers must be reminded that she was elected to serve the people, not the mayor.

LOL, I am not so worried about anything, especially morning TV. You guys really are not hearing me. I don't think ANY show should be inturrupted for this BS when I can get it later. Yes preempt if there is a big highway shut down, school let out emergency, weather warning. but this stuff is not new anymore. It can wait til regular news program comes on. I don't even watch morning TV, (LOL) but I know if I paid for an ad (commercial) to run, it better run.

Tennitia:This is a great forum, there are many. The news updates us in the morning starting at 4am, 12 noon, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, and 11pm. We have Steve Wilson's investigations, Chuck Stokes commentary, breaking news and other opportunities to hear the lastest which keeps ratings up and newspapers selling. This web site allows us to play missed broadcasts and read everyones view on the subject and its related stories. The day of the inditement, an hour of regular programing was interupted for 5 minutes for Kwame and 7 minutes of Christine in front of the judge. The other time was wasted speculating on what might happen and interpreting what did happen. Unless you use picture in picture, PLEASE DO NOT INTERUPT REGULAR PROGRAMING FOR THIS DRAMA. Thank you.
Tennitia,
According to this post of yours earlier today, you are very much concerned about your regular programming being interrupted.
You certainly didn't mention about the advertisers that purchased air time in this one.
What my point is......... KWAME SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO HAVE THE TIME OF HIS HEARING CHANGED, BECAUSE HE WANTED IT TO CHANGE.
KWAME RECEIVING SPECIAL TREATMENT ONCE AGAIN!!!!!!!
If you were ordered to appear in court do you think the judge would change the time for you because your assigned time was inconvenient for you???? I don't think so.

Yes, but my second quote did mention the advertisers who purchased air time. Find that one. My point is, I don't care enough about the court time, the judge, or the whole thing to justify inturupting regular programing. Especially if the hearing takes 12 minutes, and they talk about it for 48.

Re: Re:THE DEMON Mayor's Scandal: Prosecutor's Decision
Hoffa, general president of the 1.4-million member Teamsters union and a Detroit native, called Kilpatrick's situation in the text messaging scandal "disgraceful."
But Hoffa said he understands, from a strategic point of view, why Kilpatrick won't quit.
"Otherwise, he'd just be another guy without a paycheck," the labor leader told The Detroit News.
Detroit News Staff Writer David Shepardson contributed to this report

This drama is going to cost the city of Detroit at least $50,000,000.00 thats millions before its over. Every attorney has hired an attorney to represent them, Kwame has a tribe of high priced attorneys at the city expense

Maybe if we put the heat on John, Monica will regain her senses? I will remember to not vote for her at electoin time. Yes she did get there because of her name. Who knows anything about her before now?
Voters please don't forget her conduct!

Re: Kwame's Friday Hearing
snacpac1w: StrawberryPal: snacpac1w: MeeMee: tantra: keo10: pnc2000:
If the *** would only RESIGN already! You don’t hear much about the NY one who had the guts, dignity, and integrity to do the RIGHT THING FOR THE PEOPLE!! AND step down. Kwame is making ALL OF MICHIGAN look bad. What is wrong with our governor? Just look how he gloats! He is acting like nothing is wrong. I feel there is no way for business or anything should he be allowed to leave the state. After all, it would NOT be allowed if it was one of use people. This is so disgracing it makes me ILL. Someone needs to get a set of coconuts and JUST FORCE RESIGN THIS MAN! As the lies keep flowing and the taxpayer monies keep getting spent it time for him to go. He CARES nothing about this state or DETROIT and its people! This is not business as usual. Why doesn't our govornment listen to what people are saying! ENOUGH is ENOUGH. Just make him go away!! I know they have the power so use it already and get Michigan out of the scandal lime Life!! Oh BTW you kwame supports if your money means nothing to you I could sure use some.
This just goes to show what kind of whimp Govenrnor Grandholm is - No Guts Grandholm!
Keo? Why is this Granholm's problem? What about the 23 state reps from Wayne county that have said NOTHING... what about the 8 State Senators that have said NOTHING??? Don't you think that if something is to be done at a State level that the Governor (regardless of who it is) would be at the end of the line? What about the Attorney General, Mike Cox???? Why hasn't he filed charges? Any misappropriation of state funds by Kwame (God only knows how much there has been but I think we can all agree that there would be a ton) would be something that the Attorney General of the State could prosecute.
Thank You Tantra! I don't understand why everyone wants to blame Grandholm for the reason that he is still in office. She stated yesterday:
Wednesday, April 9, 2008
Granholm: No 'silver lining' in Kilpatrick text scandal
Mark Hornbeck / Detroit News Lansing Bureau
LANSING -- The ongoing text message scandal involving Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick "has no silver lining" for the city, Gov. Jennifer Granholm said Wednesday, adding "it's all not good."
"Certainly I'm concerned about the impact it has on the city and its progress," the governor said during a news conference in Lansing.
But Granholm again refused to say what action she might take to resolve the situation.
"The law prescribes a potential role for the governor," she said. "But I cannot comment on what I would do or wouldn't do in any way that might compromise the prosecution."
Michigan law says the governor has the authority to remove local officials in cases of misconduct.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So,lets give it some time. I am sure this whole situation will become a problem during the upcoming presidential election. Whom ever wins the primary will definitely need to visit Detroit. I know that the Democratic candidate, May it be Hillery or Obama will not want to be caught dead with Kwame. A few weeks ago when Hillary was in Detroit, Kwame was no where to be seen. I am sure she wanted it that way! Contact the 23 state Reps. I have been writing to Granholm.(once a week) Now I will write to the reps. Remember we do have power in numbers....Let not grouse and ***.... Lets do something.
It's Granmole's problem because Detroit is one of the many city's that she is supposed to oversee. She's responsible for the running of the entire state. And if the current events of Detroit or any city within Michigan, interfers with the running of the entire state, like most of those in the forum believe it does, then it is her JOB to do something about it. I didn't realize this was a game of wait and see who's going to do what. Strike that last sentence because that's all anyone is really doing. Clowncil wait on KW, citizens wait for clowncil, WXYZ forum wait on the June 9, 2008, people of Michigan wait for that Blastard to be tossed out on his ears. Everyone's waiting to see what the other person is going to do. So really nothing gets done. NOTHING AT ALL
I sense that if Granholm did intervene and forcibly succeeded in making Kwame in step down. You would still find some reason to hate her. Just for the simple reason that you want to blame her for anything and everything that wrong in this City and this State. Look how you address her name “GrandMole”. Why is it when people dislike a human being they don’t attack them on an intellectual level? Instead of attacking them on a physical level She will be damned if she does take action and damned if she doesn’t. I am under the impression that you just don’t like the fact that she is a first Demorcat Female Governor of Michigan. (Keyword: Democrat). I am sure if she were a "He" and "HE" was a republican. Then you would'nt have anything to b$tch about! Give her a break. She wasn’t responsible for having him put into office. The people voted him in. It’s up to Council and Kym Worthy to seek justice. If they need her help…They would ask! I didn’t see Kwame or anyone from City Council donate a red cent. These young people are Ambassadors representing Detroit. They represent Detroit in a positive light. No one gave her any credit for what she did last week:
Granholm's $10,000 gets high school band closer to China
Granholm's $10,000 gets high school band closer to China BY NAOMI R. PATTON • FREE PRESS STAFF WRITER • April 4, 2008 The members of the King High School marching band jumped up, whooped and hollered when they saw Gov. Jennifer Granholm enter their band room Thursday morning. Granholm -- and her $10,000 donation from her campaign fund -- were the surprise of the day for the Marching Crusaders, who were in full uniform expecting a mystery guest. All they knew was that someone was coming to help them raise the money they need for a trip to perform at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. "I'm so proud of you for being ambassadors for Michigan going to China," Granholm said. "We want to make sure you're going in style ... that you make us proud as a state." But the band's participation at the Olympics has grown now, and so did the amount of money members need to attend. Originally, the Crusaders were one of five American bands invited to perform in a pre-Olympics music festival in July. But band director Victoria Miller, standing at the director's podium with Granholm and Detroit Public Schools Superintendent Connie Calloway, said the band accepted an invitation to perform during the Olympics in August instead. During their stay from Aug. 11 to 19, the band will present shows at the Olympic Village, the Great Wall and at two schools, Miller said. Because of the new travel plans and the high demand to travel to the Olympics, the trip will be more expensive now. The tab to send 75 band members, eight faculty and several parent chaperones to Beijing rose from $240,000 to $380,000. Miller said the cost for visas went from $80 to $140, and a new flight route through San Francisco will add $600 to each ticket. With Granholm's contribution and others received this week, the band has raised $300,000, Miller said, near tears. "We're going to work for it," she said of the $80,000 still needed. She told the band members not to ask for the money from family and friends, but offer to earn it by working for them. Less than a month ago, the Crusaders had just over $53,000 and big pledges from Michigan First Credit Union and the UAW. Last week, the band received a combined $75,000 from the Skillman Foundation, the Kresge Foundation and the Community Foundation. On their own, the students sold candy and bottled water, collected empty bottles and did some telemarketing to raise money for the trip. Many band members said they didn't think they would be able to get this far. "But Miss Miller just kept telling us we could do it, and we did it," said Issac Anderson, 17, an alto-saxophone player. StrawberryPal not sure if you were responding to my post or not, but just for the record, I don't hate Grandmole. My comments are never to denote a political party or gender. If you notice there have been many nicknames given for various people: Kwame Salami, Cb referred to Horseface, Mama Cheeks, Ella Fulla *** Cummings, Kym Worthless, etc...and Granholm's nickname was Grandmole hence the huge mole on her face. Grandmole giving $10,000 to MLK band was a very nice thing to do. And I'm sure the kids are very grateful, but that has nothing to do with how she is managing the state as it relates to this scandal. Now contrary to your statement I would have the same view if Grandmole was a man. The bottom line here is that something needs and should be done. Maybe you are being too compassionate because she is a woman. KW prosecuting KK and CB is a criminal pursuit and should proceed regardless if KK remains in office or not. And last but not least, why would KW ask for Grandmoles help in prosecuting KK's criminal activity? If she needed help in that area, I would think she would go to the state prosecutor. Not sure what anyone else thinks but Council needs every bit of help they can get with there worthless butts.
P.S. Sometimes when the comments on the forum become to much, you have to overlook them or even take a few days break from reading. This situation is very nerve wrecking because it's hard to watch injustice. I would also add that some of the comments intended to lighten the mood in the forum (nicknames) don't subtract from the very valid points that are being made. Just my opnion. Yeah and I know, just like as---holes, everyone has one.
THAT'S ALL GREAT W/ THE BAND, IT'S HEART-WARMING. WHAT WOULD REALLY BE HEART-WARMING IS SEEING PEOPLE W/ JOBS INSIDE THEIR WARM HOUSES. NOT ON THE STREET DUE TO NO JOBS/FORECLOSED HOMES.
ISN'T ONE OF HER RESPONSIBILITIES LIKE KK TO BRING BUSINESSES HERE SO PEOPLE CAN HAVE JOBS. WHERE ARE ALL THE JOBS??? BUSINESSES ARE LEAVING AND SO ARE THE PEOPLE.
Will have to keep an eye on “The Stefani Trial” What he did as far as using the text messages for a settlement was what Lawyers do, and I am watching this KK perjury trial get a little lost. Ya know the Citys Lawyers are going to keep this in the forefront to take the focus of KK. He, Stefani, is NOT the DEVIL they are trying to make him out to be. The City’s Lawyer is acting like it’s the crime of the century and that he was in fear for his life if he didn’t settle. Lawyers, Can’t live with em, Can’t live with out them.
