A Detroit City Council special investigative session into a police whistle-blower lawsuit settlement erupted into a yelling match when President Pro Tem Monica Conyers made claims that she was being disrespected.

 The argument began when Conyers asked an independent attorney who was testifying if the council could be sued by Detroit residents for approving the $8.4 million lawsuit settlement.

Councilwoman JoAnn Watson said: “They can sue you; I voted no.”

Conyers told Watson to stop interrupting and disrespecting her. She added: “We all know how you voted; you don’t have to keep repeating it.”

Moments later Conyers interrupted Council President Ken Cockrel as he was questioning Carl Edwards, the Detroit attorney. Cockrel reminded Conyers that he had the floor and banged his gavel repeatedly.

Conyers railed: “You’re not my Daddy. You’re not going to disrespect me. Grow up! Control your house and learn how to treat women.”

Cockrel told Conyers that she was “one to talk.”

As the council members yelled at each other, residents attending the hearings yelled, as well. “You’re disrespecting the citizens!” and “This is a shame!”

Cockrel took a quick recess to regain order before then breaking for lunch.

Seems to me all she has done is threaten everyone. No wonder councel cant get squat done. I just dont get Monicas thinking. Step down Monica and get help. Your not effective during these hard times.

So your saying the Judges that serve now are competent enough to handle this trial, however they can make life decisions for everyone else that enters their Court.  This is what they do, I'm sure they can handle it and if their integrity is questioned then why do THEY still have jobs.  You all are digging so deep into this it's ridiculous.  The Judges are more than competent to handle this case.

My dog has more legal sense than this judge.  If the Kwamster realizes he might be convicted watch him run.  I know people that are on probation for unpaid traffic tickets that are not even allowed to leave Michigan. This dope is charged with a felony and the brain dead judge expands his travel to outside the U.S.

The corruption in Detroit, Wayne County, and Michigan goes a lot further than you think.

More examples of individuals lacking brain activity.  To even suggest we take " his word " on his travels.  He is the appointed mayor until somewhat can get him out so I guess that continues to make him entitled to whatever.  Let them have the little ones...we want to win the big one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  That man has never been held accountable and to think we were asking for an itinerary.....I thought that was a realistic request not that he wouldn't have lied about that.....an itinerary makes someone somewhat accountable.  kk would not have liked that. 

And the judges in Detroit are questioned about there competence in trying the great king kwame, look at all the special consideration he is recieving from Detroit judges, on his travel rights, the prosecutor is right he needs to stand trial with A visiting judge. somebody not in Kwames back pocket. Mr. Coleman Young implemented much of what is happening downtown now, when he tried for the Casino's it was such a bad idea according to all the suburbanites and now their the majority of the people down there now. 

I see now one addressed the reasons why Brooks P. has never received this much attention, nor Bill B., what makes them exempt ?  Heck Clinton didn't even reecive this much bad press, so all I'm saying is that the media needs to stop "picking and choosing" who they so-call expose.

As far as the City Contracts, let's see.... how many Minorities and/or Blacks do you think has Contracts in Oakland; Washtenaw & Macomb Counties ?  Not many if any, if your going to make allegations check EVERYONE not just Detroit's Mayor.  You all act as if he Invented this stuff., Kwame doesn't have 1/2 the staff at the Mansion as any other Mayor for Detroit, Archer himself had Cooks, Maids; Car Service for his family.,etc.,  come on get real and know YOUR facts.  Coleman Young had ore staff than both and he didn't even have a family like them.

What does Carlita do best? Shopping maybe and swings a mean bat from what I heard. Patterson has Oakland running smooth, it is easy to do business and the population growing as Detroiters flee the mess. Try and do business in Detroit. Let's see, you need to call this department, wait to hear from another department, this person on medical leave, this department never answers their phone. The red tape is maddening.  You can however establish a post office box and sell non existent books to the school system and get paid when no delivery was made. The national news media is constantly reporting 25% of high school students graduate in Detroit. When KK took the oath, he laid off several hundred police , fire, and bus employees while Carlita rode in luxury to buy her fur coats. The bond proposal in the stimulus package is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme based on revevue that does not exist from the casinos. While KK attends luxury hotels with Carmen Slowinski on the taxpayers dime, the city has a very poor response time for the police on 911 calls. I hope those $250.00 strawberry bubble baths at the spa were worth it KK. You are going to be tossed out of Detroit on a rail.

The trip to Hawaii 2 years ago was memorable too. City Council down there for retirement fund meetings. Well golly gee, the City Council can't get that type of action and KK can't. I don't even know if this is the place to post this, but I am so livid about this Detroit BS I can't see straight. The counsel is incompetent as you can see by their antics, and kk the thug is out of contro and noone can stop him YET. Sharon McPhailure is quoted as saying recently that "the settlement in the whistleblower trial by Mike Stefanis own admission, could have been 11 million instead of 8.4 and that the counsel has settled HUNDREDS of cases at her recommendation with no comment" What does this tell you people??? Herein lies THE issue. HUNDREDS of settlements??? She and her legal department are baffoons, which is why when it REALLY hits the fan they hire white attorneys from suburbs. I know that sounds racist, but I am far from racist. Thats just REALITY. There shouldn't be HUNDREDS of settlements. The reason there is is because the people who are trying to run the city and the people that are supposed to advise them how to stay out of trouble are incompetent baffoons, up to and including kk. They act as though they saved 2.6 million by the wb settlement, when it never would have happened had kk and his peach not gone after fine police officers trying to do the job they are sworn to do.
