Well, I think it is a great way for all of us regulars to stay in touch and keep each other informed on whats going on, and the community of "like minded" people could actually grow.  I joined one to quit smoking and it was great! You have the choice to go to the boards website or  have all the messages sent to your e-mail. You may respond  or  add to the discussion through e-mail or you can add directly do it  on the board. Sort of like we do now. It is posted. The moderator over sees the group and makes sure people don't become disrespectful vulgar or abusive to any of the members. However, the moderator usually starts the group!

.Yes, it has slowed down quite a bit. However, I am sure that there will be some blockbuster news coming soon.
Here is the directions on how to do it. It is free!

StrawberryPal, You just recently joined this forum you seem anxious that we "like minded" people form a community email group?  I think I will stay here for now.
Im with you keo, I couldn't understand why that thread got started or why it took off. There has been no threat to remove this forum and for giggles anyone can go to the forum section of WXYZ and look, comment, on any of their old forums. Just bookmark it and we can continue to talk to each other. Like minded or not.
Anybody concerned............if you want to know how the thread of starting our own blog/forum got started,  please read the above posting by duchess.  I started by asking if anyone thought the forum would soon close.  Strawberry, duchess and I simply wanted to stay in touch in the event it closed down.  Sorry to impose.
Oh Boomer it doesn't sound like you tonight. No imposition. I never thought that this would end....... well, someday. But when the trial is over I'm having a party and EVERYONE has to come and we'll figure out who's who.

Get a good night's sleep. You'll feel better in the morning....

When I saw that Judge Atkins was going to do nothing to remove Giles from the case this afternoon, I felt like I'd been punched in the stomach. Didn't get home until about 10 tonight and spent the last hour or so catching up on the forum. I see that I wasn't the only one who lost their center of gravity today.

But, this will play out and Kwame and Christine and many others will be brought to justice. It is just SO HARD to be patient. Today, for an hour or so, I doubted the entire "legal system" that manipulates and mocks the law.

There was so much said tonight and I would like to add to the discussion, but it's late, I'm tired and discouraged by the day's news, so I'm going to close with my mom's advice: "Get a good night's sleep. You'll feel better in the morning...."

I hope we all awake with strong resolve and a fresh perspective. Good night.

    Tushana:

kk is working hard at this.  His new platform which WILL soften the blows and help him win "forgiveness" is  "I AM BEING PUNISHED BY MY GOD."  This is part of his speech at the Fellowship Chapel in Detroit.  The narcisissm still comes through with the "MY GOD." His team reads comments and than regroups with new ways to polish his persona. They are doing a good job.  Hopefully the people in Detroit don't see him as finding God, admitting mistakes and than giving him the forgiveness so that HE can get back to work doing God's work by being a corrupt and deceitful mayor with only his interests at heart.  On wxyz site.

"MY GOD"  give me a break!

    I found kk's quote, it's a doozy:

Kilpatrick told the crowd: "I'm not being whupped by the devil, I am being punished by my God. I know that my disobedience put me in the situation I am in."

So isn't admitting disobedience akin to admitting guilt?

Liz did you read his comments at the Pancakes and Politics forum.  Article in the Free Press.  He basically stated that his removal would be a process of "unplugging" and the city would not make it without him leading.  Your reference to "Disobedience to guilt"  I don't know and can't speculate as the man is too psychologically impaired to interpret his talk as having a logical sequence of thoughts. It is all annoying and crazy since the his thought process is so fragmented and self indulging.  You can disobey and not be guilty of illegal activity.  That sounds like where kk is coming from.  Simply acknowledging he had the affair,,,not anything beyond that.  Remember he perceives himself as not having done anything illegal and that the media is playing this to his disadvantage.  He is the victim.

What happened that he is being punished by God? What he stated before that he was put there by God to lead the city.

where does this end, this man think hes unstopable,Kym Worthy,s group will put him in his place(JAIL) Then he can negotiate with Tiny in his cell.

And for horseface, I do hope that she does not turn and offer evidence that way she'll spend time in jail. She is just as arrogant as he.

Wow a few days away and it's easy to get behind here!  I agreee miamia though I feel that CB was a Chief of Staff for the mayor...if anybody should get punished it should be the one elected to the position of mayor....and until kwame is gone....mayor isn't a proper noun in Detroit.  I wish for CB to be punished for her discretions/crimes and hiding and lying about it.  I'll bet she might now and then sit and shake her head when she's alone wondering w t f was I thinking?  But she made her choice and I'm sure the penalty will be appropriate.  On the other hand...the mayor needs the book thrown at him.  He's done way more lying, cheating and stealing from the citizens of Detroit.  He probably feels comfy with the murders though...

KK IS PLAYING MIND GAMES AND TRYING TO TURN THE TABLES.   HE'S A SICK PERSON AND NEEDS PROFESSIONAL HELP.   HE'S TELLING THE PEOPLE WHAT HE THINKS THEY WANT TO HEAR, HE'S TRYING TO RATIONALIZE W/ THEM.

WITH DEMENTED GAME PLAYING PEOPLE LIKE THIS YOU HAVE TO BE ONE STEP AHEAD OF THEM.  IN KK'S PLACE 10 STEPS AHEAD BEACAUSE HE'S PAYING SO MANY PEOPLE TO PLAY  W/ HIM.

MCPHAIL IS QUIET PROBABLY BECAUSE SHE GETS AN OVER ABUNDANCE OF NOT SO NICE E-MAILS EVERYTIME SHE OPENS HER FLAP.  KEEP THEM COMING PEOPLE.

ALSO E-MAIL THE JUDGES IN THE DISTRICT 36 PRECINCT, GRANMOLE (YES I DID CALL HER THAT),  MR/MRS CONYERS, KK'S FAMILY, ETC.

I agree he's playing games...the bad part is that there are so many out there that believe he did nothing wrong.... WRONG those of you that think that! I think that number is dropping by now.  Yet there will still be the diehards that depend on kwame for their job or  receiving a city contract...I bet this goes on everywhere...not just in Detroit....he's just one of the few that have gotten caught....McPhail is a waist of fresh air in the City Council Chambers......
Then again...sometimes covering up murder can bring out other skeletons in the closet huh kwame?

    A small consolation

Many of us are upset at today's decision by the court.

But justice was served on Wesley Snipes.  While most citizens of the U.S. pay our taxes whether we want to or not, this guy thought he could get away without doing so.

He apparently owed the U.S. government over $15 million in income taxes, and seemed very beligerant throughout litigation.  I never thought he'd spend a day in jail, but he just got sentenced for 3 years in prison!

Hopefully the citizens of Detroit will receive justice.  Look at all of the powerful who have been convicted and are serving time:  Jeffrey Skilling (Enron); Dennis Kozlowski (Tyco Corp.); Bernie Eppers (WorldCom); Michael Vick (for dogfighting), and now Snipes.  And many, many others.  Let's just try to remember these VERY POWERFUL people and how unlikely we thought it would be that they'd ever be convicted or serve time for their crimes.

As myself and others have cited here many times,    Pr 16:18: "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." (NIV)

Snipes Gets Three Years in Prison in Income-Tax Case

    By Doris Bloodsworth

April 24 (Bloomberg) -- Actor Wesley Snipes was sentenced to the maximum three years in prison for failing to file income tax returns.

Snipes, 45, was found guilty Feb. 1 in federal court in Ocala, Florida, on three misdemeanor counts. U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges sentenced him today to one year for each charge, to be served consecutively.

``I am very sorry for my mistakes and errors,'' Snipes told the judge. ``As I was sitting here today, a street saying came to mind -- more money, more problems.''

Hodges granted prosecutors' request for the maximum prison sentence allowed by law. Prosecutors estimated that Snipes failed to pay $15.6 million in income taxes over six years. He also hid millions of dollars in offshore accounts and threatened U.S. government employees, including one who rejected a $4 million refund claim as frivolous, the government said in court papers.

``These are serious crimes, albeit misdemeanors, because he has a history of contempt over time,'' the judge said.

Snipes's defense lawyers, in court papers, urged the judge to sentence him to probation. He is ``not a dangerous man'' and has lived an ``otherwise lawful life,'' his lawyers said. They said Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington had written a letter to the court calling Snipes a longtime friend who lived a principled life built on ``honesty, truth and courage.''

Prosecutors argued that Snipes's acquittal on more serious felony charges created a public perception that the actor beat the rap.

    Tax Denier Tactics

Snipes, in refusing to pay taxes, followed a number of tactics employed by so-called tax deniers, the government said. Such people assert that the law doesn't require U.S. citizens to pay income tax, often relying on century-old Supreme Court cases and other repudiated legal theories to make their case.

The Justice Department earlier this year began a nationwide crackdown against the movement, pledging to target tax deniers with criminal and civil cases.

Snipes's lawyer, Carmen Hernandez, asked that he be sent to the federal prison in Westchester County, New York, to be near his home in New Jersey. There is no parole in the federal prison system, though inmates can win about a 10 or 15 percent reduction in their sentences for good behavior.

Co-defendant Eddie Ray Kahn of Sorrento, Florida, who operated what prosecutors called a ``tax-fraud mill,'' was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment. Douglas Rosile of Venice, Florida, an accountant whose license was revoked in two states, received a four and 1/2-year sentence.

``The law is very clear: people must pay their taxes,'' Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman said in a statement.

The case is U.S. v. Snipes, 06-22, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, Ocala Division.

Lived and paid taxes in Detroit.  Moved and now work in the suburbs.  My house is for sale.  Anybody want to buy it?  My taxes have increased yet the "fair market value" on my house has and is still dropping significantly ( I know-preaching to the choir-we are all in the same boat).  With talk from Lansing about raising taxes yet again and king kk with all of his "grand ideas" about his stimuLATE package with no reasonable funding for this in sight; I feel that I am about to pay a whole lot more.  Guess where he will be going for his funding??????? Anyone??????Anyone????? The suburbs of course!!!!!!  I don't care what anyone says about the suburbs having no say in what happens in Detroit; when Detroit fails; we all fail.  Doesn't anyone understand this???Well, I for one don't want to give another d$$$ cent to him, his family, his friends, his wh$$$$, or Detroit for that matter.  Enough is enough.  Also, for any of the move on or pro-kk bloggers.  I can throw stones because I don't live in a full glass house.  Yes, I have done some things that weren't great in my lifetime but I can honestly say that

    1.  I have not cheated on my spouse

    2.  I have not stolen money from other people.  As a matter of fact, I have had this done to me before and the criminal got away with it.  I almost feel like I am a victim again; especially if things turn out like I think they will.

    3.  I have not taken advantage of anyone for monetary or any other type of gains.

    4.  I give back to society what I can at the expense of not becoming a burden to society myself.

    5.  I have volunteered at shelters and helped out with mentor programs.

After watching Steve's report of king kk and his "kickbacks" from flying and partying at LA, Hollywood, Bermuda, and Florida and reading the commentary from the reporter Rochelle(sorry can't remember her last name), I am convinced that nothing will be done to him.  I agree; let him be.  It will unfortunately cost the city a lot of money to try and I say TRY and prosecute him.  Why bother?  Save the money and try to rebuild Detroit so that maybe I CAN sell my house.  Let's hope that kk won't be elected again in 2009 because we all know that he is planning on running for mayor again.  Let's hope that the citizens of Detroit have enough sense to protest this outrageous miscarriage of justice and not vote for him.  Unless he has enough people under his command or bank account to win him yet another election, I can't really see this happening.  If it does, then Detroit really deserves what happens to it.

BTW, why aren't the FEDS looking into this????  I know there are politicians that have been kicked out or had to resign from congress for taking kickbacks; much like king kk.

Such a sad day..... I pray for Detroit, its future, and my quest to sell my house.

This is a little folk lore but it worked for me.  Buy a little statue of St. Joseph at the religious store and bury it in your yard - I buried my in front under the windows, and within a few weeks it sold.
Why the little statue of St. Joseph? Sorry, never heard of it.......

Ok here it is again, what does white have to do with it. This is what Kwame wants, lets get all wrapped up in the color card. It has nothing to do with color. The reality is people are dying in Detroit and surrounding areas due to criminals being in control.

We need to stick with the problem, namely Kwame and down the ladder

Kathy............You have to read the entire post to get the point. The entire post. Thank you.
I have read the entire post and THAT is my opinion, do you live to pick apart my post? I have a right to say what I want.

This was wonderful!!!  You can guess my age....I actually liked the "Miss Coleman Yet?"

YES and I saw Sheffield was behind this fundraiser too.  I really feel he has compassion for Cb and kk  $%^&*)  It is amazing how tweo people, given though they are "innocent until proven guilty" can be so arrogant to just feel they are entitled to solicit for funds.  As others stated..economcy is horrific and manypeople are low on $$$.. Maybe they wil get those envelopes with $1000.00 stuffed inside. Now that cb is back in the spotlight AGAIN I am curious what her "uncle-in-law, Beatty " has to say about this.

What does this mean and why does it show up sometimes "non matching quotes in post"?  I have to delete the post to get my response back.

I had the same thing happen the other day. HTML can be very touchy and sometimes, it's easy to delete one of the characters without realizing it. Rather than try to fix it, I just copied my message, closed the window and started again. It worked the second time.

Sorry if this has already been answered....I'm still behind in messages.  It means your message is "unbalanced"...if you are using the Quote button, make sure you pay attention to the beginning quotes quote user="Cheryl48"quote user="Tushana"  and the ends which end with "( /quote  ) which ends it... There always has to be a matching end tag to each beginning quote tag.  It can sometimes happen if you post in the middle of a message.  It has happened to me before.  This message might even give me an error because I used the actual HTML up above.  yep had to fix it above.  hope this helps a little.

I am so sorry that I even thought for a moment that you people cared...You are all about Hate! You either are stuck in the city and you can't leave or You are a neo-conservative and "hate" liberalism. Lets blame the democratic governor  (its all her fault that the stupid asses that live in the city voted him in) Use that Jive ass Hip-hop Mayor to prove your point ... its because he is a  Black Democratic ...Well go ahead and have your bitchfest!  You all will continue to bit-ch and not do one frickin thing about it!  I have been around more then you can be aware of. It took a long time for me to finally post. (like since January). I am so sorry that I even tried to express anything I felt!  GOOD NIGHT....DON'T LET YOU 'ALL COCKROACHES BITE.
