Here is what I sent to both Espy and the National email address;
Mr. Espy,
In reviewing the news this morning, it came to my attention that Comcast intends to give Kwame Kilpatrick his own public access on Comcast. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? The man has been charged with 8 felony counts of crimes against the City of Detroit and the citizens of the city and for that matter the State of Michigan, and I have no doubt Federal charges against him are around the corner.
Comcast giving him a forum to spew his propaganda is appalling, and frankly, unacceptable. It is my understanding that Mr. Kilpatrick is being allowed to hand pick his guests as well. The preliminary list seems to be a list of people that have long been on what I like to refer to as the “friends and family” plan in Detroit. Ella Bully-Cummings? This is the woman that LIED about the Navigator to the public, to cover Mr. Kilpatrick. This is the woman that has exchanged text messages that led to the false accusations and subsequent firing and destruction of 3 police officers lives. Shame on her, and honestly, shame on you.
As a long time Comcast subscriber, with a bill of $180+ a month, my voice and those of the MAJORITY of other Comcast subscribers (by the way, about 93% of the people think that Kwame is a thug, thief and quite possibly a murderer), you need to stop this ridiculous idea. At the VERY least, you need to give equal time to the opposition.
Just let me know when and where the other 93% of us can plan on our access time on Comcast. We are incredibly organized, articulate, and passionate about stopping the crimes against Detroit and the taxpayers of Michigan by the Kilpatrick Crime Family.
Sincerely,
Tatra
I have written to Comcast about their addition to their programming of kwame. and I did tell them that because of that I'm cancelling my subscription to camcast.
I've already called ATT and set up an appointment to change my cable and internet
You go MiaMia. You'll love AT&T. My kids have it and it's awesome - and much cheaper. Thanks for inconveniencing yourself to make a strong point.
Think I'll switch cable, telephone, and internet provider also.
miamia
Just recieved conformation from ATT. May 14th I will have new service
cable, internet, telephone, internet with yahoo
Be proud MiaMia!! Wonderful!! Did you receive an answer from Comcast yet? If you do would you mind sharing it with us.
not yet. Yes I will share when and if I get one

All the supporters or non believers can now eat a little crow.
Takes 2 to tango, doesn't it? (Just really dated myself) She is just as guilty, but maybe Kwame had a little more responsibility because he is an elected official. I still would sacrifice the self-satisfaction of Beatty in prison if she testified against him to assure a slam dunk conviction of Kwame. She's trash anyway, her personal and professional life are over. But the new text messages pretty much confirm she never will turn against "her man" (yuck.)

Re: Mayor's Scandal: Prosecutor's Decision
I guess that plante would be USA, It crazy how the media can put time in solving a case aganist the Mayor. The media should be in charge, of all the crimes that have yet to be solved. But we the people of this planet, only want to focus on certain type of people, I don't have to spell it out. Most people that are angry don't even live in Detroit, they live on the outskirts. I am one of those people, even though I was born and raised in Detroit. I want the MEDIA to do us all a favor and investigate Racial Profiling in Macomb and their school system, let's see what they can uncover. Or do that even matter to anyone????

Re: Mayor's Scandal: Prosecutor's Decision
Kudos to Kym Worthy and anyone who can get this poor example of a Mayor out of office. He is damaging Detroit by his prescence more each day!
I was pleased to hear the judge state the new text messages are public record. It directly shows their evident PERJURY, and the wrongful firing of Gary Brown, tying into the later settlement by KK.
Apparently, Kwame sent a letter to his entire staff years ago stating that all emails and phone use is public property. Maybe someone needs to give him a copy of his own letter, unless he thinks it didn't apply to him and Christine Beatty, only everyone else?
KK and CB's lawyers are acting as if the messages are protected under the Federal Law, however, these messages were not on their personal phones, they did not pay for them with their own money, they were paid for by taxpayers of Detroit. State and government workers are given the same rules that when you use a work (public) phone, computer, higher officials are not exempt from the same rules, each person is held accountable for all information conveyed, it is public property. The taxpayers were paying for an affair between KK and CB, and illegal business activities. TAXPAYERS have the right to know where their money went. KK and CB are criminals by stealing taxpayers money for their scandalous affair, firing of Gary Brown, PURJURY several times over, offering building contracts to a friend and excluding other contractors from the selection, this list definitely pertains to those text messages. Many people also believe Kwame is concealing evidence and truth behind the wrongful death of Tamara Greene. How on earth can Kwame retain his position as Mayor with all this scandal he created and is now trying desperately to hide? If this same evidence was applied to an average citizen, we would have been fired immediately and given some jail time!
Now Christine Beatty is trying to raise money from the public for her defense. Why doesn't she ask her boyfriend Kwame? LOL Maybe she should think of way to bail herself and hand it all over to Kwame to deal with...

Wow.
Anger Management.
Again, I think that you need to re direct your angst toward those currently under indictment... Kwame Kilpatrick and his soon to be the NEXT Mrs. Kilpatrick (Formerly known as Christine Beatty).
I think anger should be spread evenly amongst those that have a duty to the public. I'm with you Gene210 on this one. And Grandmole fits in there somewhere.
Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, And Nobody
| |
This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done |
I would like to add that anger should be spread among those that have a duty to the public, but refuse to act or respond on behalf of the citizens.
Well then Snacpac... I will guess since you believe that, that you have already contacted the 31 other elected State Reps/Senators, each of the City Council members, the Attorney General of Michigan, John Conyers (albeit, somewhat senile but still Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee), all of the elected Judges for Wayne County, Kym Worthy, Ella Bully-Cummings (as she is sworn to serve and protect the people), Kwame Kilpatrick, and any and all Federal Representatives for Wayne County (Stabenow and Levin as Senators and all of those elected to the House of Representatives, including Carolyn Cheeks), because you are angry and you are "spreading it among those that have a duty to the public, but refuse to act or respond on behalf of the citizens".
My only point is that there are more than enough people that have been elected to public office over the last 20 years, representing all and/or part of the State of Michigan that it is simply ridiculous to blame ONE PERSON, any one person for that matter, for all of the woes of the State of Michigan.
My problems with Kwame Kilpatrick is that he has done nothing but rape and pilage the city of Detroit and the good people that live and pay taxes there, but let's be honest, he hasn't done it alone. Christine Beatty, Ella Cummings, Monica Conyer, Martha Reeves, Coleman Young, etc. etc. etc.
Kwame Kilpatrick has been charged with 8 felony counts of assault on the people. He has admitted he lied. He did so from a church, with a public broadcast, when he "apologized" to his "lovely" wife. So that is why HE and his "lovely" next wife are the currently charged.
If I remember correctly, when you first came to this board, you were rather "pro-Kwame"... can you tell me, when your opinion of him changed? I am just curious, as I am trying to wrap my brain around at what point people started understanding that Kwame thought he was at Cedar Pointe on the "Detroit" ride.
Thanks!!!
Tantra I have never been pro kk. My entire purpose for joining the forum was to vent my frustration about kk. I thought he was an idiot when he first ran for mayor of Detroit. I would never vote for the fool or anyone that has similar qualities. I'm not sure where you're getting that from. But if you know of any post that I was pro kk please share them with me. I have held the same opinion of kk from day one and my opinion has never changed. Obviously you don't remember correctly, so let's not start spreading lies. And maybe you should take your own advice and invest in anger management classes, because it sounds like your attacking me not the issue. You will not run me off of this forum with lies and personal attacks.
And yes, I have emailed several public officials to express my outrage, as many other forum members have. And as usual you get a blanket statement thanking you for expressing your concerns. They don't respond with solutions or even suggestions for solutions to concerns. And that's if you even get a response at all.
For some reason you have a soft spot for Granholm, which is fine. But I personally believe that she is the one person that has the authority to actually remove kk from office, outside the City Council. I don't think people are blaming Granholm for the situation, at least I'm not. I think people are confused as to why she has not responded in some manner regarding this scandal. Decisions need to be made as Michigan's image is suffering, not only nationally, but worldwide. I'm not sure how a negative image will serve to bring jobs to this state, or help the economy. I couldn't imagine someone wanting to invest money someplace that has a bad image. I'm sure everyone has heard of the recently cancelled conferences and loss of money in other ways. This scandal needs containment. Michigan obviously has many problems outside kk, but the immediate issue of kilpatrick can be dealt with by Granholm or city council removing him from office. You can send all the emails you like but they are falling on deaf ears if those you are emailing don't have the power to remove the SOB. For instance sending letters to state reps and senators has it's limitations. They can't remove kk from office. They can only rally with us to get Granholm or council to act. Plus why send a million emails to people that have limited ability to take action, when we can send one thousand to the person that can take action. Let's bypass the middle man. Get the job done. It's obvious that kilpatrick needs to go.
So to end this lengthy post, I'm not pro Granholm or pro kwame. I'm not pro anyone that has the ability to make this situation, that is and continues to scar Michigan's image, go away. That includes Granholm, kk, city council and anyone else....

Comcast has no backbone believe me, I saw it here in Royal Oak a few months ago when they suddenly wanted to change local government access channels to the higher tiers 900 channels so they could use the long established lower number stations. Only problem was that it would cost subscribers $$$. Even though it’s the burbs, we are all hurting $$$ too. They will do the same if enough people object to KK getting a platform for his venom. However as I type I can already hear the RACE card being played by KK and lawyers, “Violation of freedom of speech”. If refused. Doesn’t matter what the outcome is, we can still boycott Comcast, they want money we want a better and safer Detroit which should be the issue. If they do grant his platform maybe WE could demand equal time in response. Looks like the possibilities are really endless.

Kudos to all of you for turning against Comcast for promoting The Kwame Show.
Guess Comcast must be on the side of Kwame, which is very disheartening to say the least.
I will be looking into changing my service too! What a joke, giving a criminal their own talk show? What kind of statement does this make for Comcast, we love to give TV shows to crooks, so go out and become one, but don't get caught by hiding all the records, like KWAME...?
I think it would be a great idea to start a petition against COMCAST for this outrage. See if you can get as many subscribers to QUIT if they don't cancel his show. I think if thousands of people start quitting COMCAST as a result, they may rethink how important The Kwame Show is, NOT? Nothing hurts more than losing tons of customers permanently, and if you petition to family out of state, the numbers will climb!

Msery:The Justice System has prevailed in this matter. (What would Giles have ruled?) Would have loved to see the mayor's "group" of highly paid lawyers leaving the courtroom in an utter state of defeat, after all of their legal arguments to get the release of this damning piece of evidence stopped. Perhaps this is a turning point? However, the depth of the "corruption" that lurks and works in the city of Detroit is so entrenched that I am waiting to hear the latest "twist" on this evidence. When does some of the fear that is allowing the crime/corruption in the city to flourish, turn the tide and encourage some of the police, the legal department, and the "vows of silence"staff to realize the jig is up and it's time to stop protecting the criminal activity in the city? Someone on this forum said at the beginning of this investigation that it was the tip of the iceberg...looks like you were right. Dear God, let's hope that the pursuit of justice is furious and far-reaching and in all of the corners of corruption.
I was also very pleased with Judge Columbo's decision to release more text and the document. Judge Columbo has been very consistent from the beginning. Hopefully this evidence has made it impossible for kk's gang to get him off the hook. That would be wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better early Christmas gift.

Doesn’t matter what the outcome is, we can still boycott Comcast, they want money we want a better and safer Detroit which should be the issue. If they do grant his platform maybe WE could demand equal time in response. Looks like the possibilities are really endless.
Great idea Kathy
