I just read the freep article.  Of course we knew much of the friends and family network already but to get the actual # of 29 is a bit much.  I did notice absent from the article were any friends and family ties for CB.  I know her mothr has a position.  But how many of her other relatives are in positions??

Just read the Freep about one of the thug Kwame's 29 relatives and friends - DeDan Milton who previously was a driver for the Wayne County prisoners on trash detail.  He was hired to represent the mayor at pension board meeting and he evaluates multi million dollar deals an votes on investments!  Not that there is anything wrong with driving a truck (an honest living) but it does not qualify you to make decisions on pensions and investments.  He has no business in that position - again it shows what a joke the thug Kwame is as a Mayor. 

After reading the article again, I correct myself re CB friends and family which there are 2 listed,  but 1 was not her mother C (I think Carolynn) Rowland

I'm not finding it today, but I remember doing a Google search a few months ago when CB's mother was first mentioned.  Believe it or not, I think it was shown that she had a PhD in the area in which she worked! 

But what amazes me about today's revelation is that these "appointees" do not have to pass any civil service type testing!  I would think that would be a MINIMUM to attain any of these jobs.  Could you just imagine - there may be well qualified people who have to report to these appointees, who have no basic skill set!  Talk about frustrating.

What does one do to get the highest raise in that group?  Spend their workdays trying to figure out how to lower taxes and increase public services? 

Trying to bust those that are wasting tax dollars?

Now what would be interesting and the icing on the cake is to dissect each one of those positions. Describe EXACTLY what the job involves, in detail, and list say, a daily schedule of accomplishments /duties. Then, again in detail illustrate what these people have succeeded in doing that improved the City., like a 90 day performance review. Or are these just positions where they come into work once a week for 30mins. To sign their time sheet then have an executive driver take them home?

The one thing I am not getting here is did Kwame intentionally skip the NORMAL hiring procedure for family and friends, you know the one, Qualifications, DRUG SCREENS, background checks, (that’s a good one, I would love to see a criminal History check on everyone) or do these positions not require this standard practice. If that’s the case, that the Mayor can higher anyone he wants at will here is another thing that need to be changed.

Isn’t nepotisms illegal? Didn’t Young get accused of this also ?

I think anyone who pays taxes that go to Detroit should have some say. I also think the Water board should be represented by every county it gets revenue from.

Kathy:  I'd be careful about putting your name on any website.  Especially since this one asks for both first & last name AND your email address.  There is also a link that is suppose to show all names submitted, which would allow for anyone to get your name & email address.  (Very scary!  Too much identity theft going on!)  I did click on it, but it was taking too long to open & I was afraid that it could have had a virus of some sort attached to it, so I closed it down.

Please understand that ANY email petition is worthless.  It doesn't hold any weight as there's no way to prove that it was that particular individual who submitted their name.  Also, many people have more than one email address and could "sign" it more than once.  For a petition to be valid, you must have signatures!  This particular website would be more of a 'poll', rather than a 'petition'.  I'd be very careful about giving that info on a public website that can be viewed by anyone in the world!

I think we all know that there are more than 29. The Free Press article researched the people mentioned. I'm sure we'll be in for a part 2 and 3 and 4 as they continue their work. This has to be a challenging task with all of the stonewalling coming from city hall.

I have no problem with qualified people being appointed, but this sounds like a free for all ( literally) friends and pals of KK.  It's hard to take in some of the raises that those listed have received over a few years, while the remainder of the city force has met with layoffs and salary cuts.

The city needs to be streamlined, but the mayor's office needs to set the example not rub salt in the wounds of those out of work.

Job Qualifications to be hired/appointed by Kwame:

• Pal
• Related
• Marry a pal or relative
• Never have held a full time job
• Lie about college attendance
• Lie on resumes
• Lie to insurance companies
• Embezzle from petty cash fund
• Be totally unqualified for the job
• Have unquestioned loyalty to KK
• Have one or more scrapes with the law-
  • "I didn't beat up my wife"
  • "I'll pay back petty cash"
  • "Who the *&*& do you think I am?"
  • "Pistol whip an employee! Me???"

I'm sure we can come up with many more requirements to work for KK.

Just watched Parkman stating that some people stop him on the street and tell him the want the thug to stay on as Mayor! Who the heck even knew what Parkman looked like?  Looked like he had been up all night and didn't shave.

The friends and family on the payroll, once they were in, if they wanted to go to college or other training , I bet the city paid. What a crook. Kwame needs to be thrown out. I bet if *** Devoss were governor, he would be gone. Not saying he was the best candidate, but I think he had some balls.

The Party... A Story That Won't Die Five years later and many people still believe there was a party at the Manoogian Mansion and the Kilpatrick administration has done nothing but fuel that belief with their behavior, from firings, millions in tax payers money spent, arrogance and perjury charges. This year we've heard from an officer who said he was at the party, and according to sources has pictures, and a former civilian working in the police department who said she saw the police report on the beating  former dancer Tamara Greene allegedly took from Carlita Kilpatrick. So it should come as no surprise that a local news team has been tracking a former Detroit Police Officer who was reportedly dancing at this alleged party. The officer, who we won't name, apparently left the police department soon after this story broke and went to work for a downriver police department. From what we are told she's been approached by this dogged news reporter who can't get her to talk. If this is true this officer being linked to the party will catch many by surprise because although its been rumored from the beginning that there was an officer involved this is not the officer most thought. It could turn out that this is just another failed lead or rumor but its one we  will be able to add to the list of stories from the party that never happen.
