Kwame wants to stay in office so he can personally see the evidence destroyed that should put him behind bars. How many of your family can you get civil service jobs for with benefits. It is people like you that elected this crud into office. He is dragging Detroit down, we are the laughing stock of this country. Are you able to afford luxury trips with massages, expensive champagne  and dinners, all on the taxpayers backs? The fat cats that do this crap are getting caught in this day and age and are going to jail.

It shows how much the thug and his family think of the stooges citizens who put him in office.  When it is your money ,the sky is the limit, but when the money comes out of their pocket-that is something else.  For instance, chocolate covered strawberries while getting a massage?  acceptable.  Paying $1.00 a page for court records-that is unacceptable.  You figure out why he is a THUG-the real reason is that that is the nicest thing we can refer to him as.

I've read somewhere on this site that to be fully vested for medical/pension for life it takes 10 years continuous employment. He won't make the 10 years come November anyway.

I believe Kwame really thinks he will be vindicated as he says and everything will be back to normal after the trial and he will overwhelmingly win re-election in 2009. I don't think he'll resign ever - his ego is too tied to the position. The sociopath in him won't allow anything else.

Mayor vesting?
Some believe that the reason Mayor Kilpatrick has not made a decision to step down and his lawyers are stalling is so Mayor Kilpatrick can wait until after November when he will have 10 years as a public servant and will be vested into a pension. Whether that is true or not is unknown but like former City Councilmember Alonzo Bates any pension money owed Kilpatrick should go to the city to pay back the $8.4 million owed  tax payers.

IT'S GOING TO TRY TO SKIM EVEN MORE MONEY OUT OF DEBTROIT IF IT CAN STAY IN OFFICE LONG ENOUGH.

Good morning all! Neither fog, nor rain, nor cold, nor wind in Spring will keep me from loving Michigan (most days).

As Laura points out, Parkman said on the program yesterday that he took the case because he was "told he couldn't win - loves a challenge and really LIKES Kwame".

Isn't this disturbing?  Usually, you hear these guys state that they just KNOW their client is innocent, that everyone deserves adequate representation, etc.  But NONE of Parkman's reasons were noble!

And another thing.  Why is it that so many people connected to this case are tax scofflaws?  Do any of you even know anyone who doesn't pay their taxes?  I don't (or at least I don't know about it, anyway).  But since we've been following this case, character after character enter the picture, and we find out that most of them are in arrears in their property and/or income taxes, in parking tickets, fines. etc.  I've never seen anything like it!  Yet they get appointed to big jobs with the City!

Never have I seen such a tangled mess of finances, from someone who actually held a position of responsibilty in the administration!  Where do they find these people?

Parkman, and the rest of the defense team, are Trial Attorneys. You have to remember that all of the time. Trial attorney's are the showmen in the law business and most have had acting classes. Outgoing personalities and the successful ones are smart and quick on their feet. They have to be.

Taking that into consideration, their egos are enormous and they believe they are smarter than everyone else. You know the type. Trouble with taxes - heck they'd enjoy the fight with IRS - disputing a tax law. That's usually how they get in trouble with taxes - they want to interpret a law to benefit themselves, without basis for existing case law. It's the fight they're after. They loose, oh well and on to the next one.

But we need them to vigorously defend the accused. It's a check and balance of our legal system. All clients are innocent, they have to believe it in order to fight the fight.

As for Beattys finances, she was trying to outsmart the system with grants etc.

I think I can say with some confidence, having never met her, SHE'S PROBABLY DUMBER!!
