I keep hearing about Kwame needing to sell the city's half of the tunnel in order to balance the budget.

I'm not much into the financial stuff, so I have a few questions.

The tunnel is a money making asset as it is. Why sell it? Once it's sold, it is gone for good. No more revenues. In the short run it makes KK look good with a balanced budget. In the long run it could be catastrophic to the city. How does he plan to replace those steady revenues?

Also, is homeland security happy with selling a very busy access point into the US to a foreign group. Yes, I know it's Canada and I'm actually fine with the Canada part, but the concept of selling to any foreign country troubles me.

Finally, I understand that there would be a committe to help run this venture and that Kwame would control the committe or at the very least appoint its members. Can this be true? It would be the fnf plan again.

Just wondering...........

Have you noticed that Kwame has nothing to say about anything. His attorney denies what K supposedly said to Watson... was he there? If not, then isn't that heresay? I wonder how much Webbs statement to the press cost.

Tolliver denies the red dress and threatens other media over the story. She's been pretty quiet the last couple of days. I be embarrassed to show my face, let alone shoot off my mouth.

And where is McFail? She's been silenced.

And where is Sheffield? He's been very quiet.

Even Monica has toned down the rhetoric.

Of course, the Feds have been quiet, too, but I think they're working on some things. (I hope!)

Why dont you people just let the justice system take it's course?  Like the Deputy Mayor said, it is the most attention City Council has ever had and they are wallowing in it.  The News media too.  You people are despicable.  Just let him have his day in court and quit meddling.  Also, like the other man said, don't forget all the GOOD Kwame has done for this city.  It's just my opinion this is all political, including your station, which is definitely run by Republicans.

 

 

Thank you.  Everytime I wonder who to listen to, I,like you, rely of the Deputy Mayor to point the way.  He is so impartial and level headed, and like Kwame, he puts the city of Detroit and it's citizens ahead of himself.

Please feel free to share some more of the deep thoughts of the Deputy Mayor.

Sounds like a plan to me... reward him for damaging the city.

A pension hmmmm.  Could only happen in Detroit with these characters.  If kk is denying he had that contact with Watson I wonder what Watson is thinking.  She looks like another one who doesn't know how to speak the truth...that is if kk is telling the truth. :)  That just added another layer to the drama.

Hello......... Isn't this irregular? Is there a due date for payment or did Giles not specify. How soon do you think the "defendants will pay this bill? Aren't these the defendents who have funds to pay for their legal expenses? Shouldn't there be liens placed on their homes it they don't pay in a timely fashion. (Oh, that's right the mayor lives rent free in a mansion.) And who knows how Christine is paying her mortgage.

This is a debt owed to Wayne County, and, if KK and CB don't pay up, it will be costing every taxpayer of the county, so to the moveons of the region, I guess that makes this whole mess very much a suburbanites concern.

I doubt that the "team" has said I'll bill you and you can pay me whenever.

OK... done venting. Out to walk the dog.

The County will get their money. Giles doesn't want another delay while they negotiate the fee. Anybody else would be looking for change on 6 mile.

How will the county get their money?  What am I not getting?
