I think it's time to move to the new forum.

It's the newly created forum that is being promoted by WXYZ. There will be new people posting with new ideas, thoughts.

Plus this one is getting very long and getting hard to back track to find "articles" or opinions of others.

See you guys on the new Board!!

IrishIndian - I have always thought that Kobbleheads were entitled to their own opinions, regardless if they agree with me or not. If I engage with them it is for them to clarify their opinions because I don't understand them. I believe you have me confused with someone else.

    Re: Guiles already showing favoritism

    Kathy 1007:

Why was the court date moved so far back? Guiles should have read them the riot act for not paying for the discovery papers so they wouldn’t need extra time to prepare. That’s why they move the court date back isn’t it?

Another thing that went by relatively Un addressed was the fact KK and CB weren’t in court in the beginning. ALL those lawyers and their only response was they didn’t know the both had to be THERE. COME ON. I hope Kim Worthy has a good support system because she really need to have someone to help with the frustration. A life size Kwame punching bag comes to mind!

Totally agree with you there, Kathy!  I think that move on Giles' part proves without a doubt that he (and other 36th District Judges) cannot be impartial on this case.  There should have been NO extension given.  If the documents were that important to Kwame's attorneys then why didn't they pick them up the second week in April when they were ready?  They would have had over a month with 8 attorneys looking them over.  I don't buy the reason being the cost of the copying fee.  It's just another way of delaying things.  I'm sure this was planned out from the very beginning.

Just a thought......couldn't kk's attorneys have gotten a copy of the text messages directly from Skytell?

Wasn't it kk's attorneys who said they wanted to 'move this forward' and not have delays??  I think they're going to continue to stall in hopes of there not being a trial until after kk has his pension vested and/or his term is over with.

Question:  If kk is found guility AFTER he has fulfilled his term as mayor, would he still be eligible for the pension?  Obviously, if found guilty before the term is over with, that would null any pension.

Again, WHERE IS THE RECALL PETITION???   Why hasn't the news media been keeping people abreast of what's going on with that?  Kwame could be kicked out within a few months if that petition was signed by the 57,000+ Detroit voters.  That would save the taxpayers the money that is going to be required for the forfeiture.  Just think of how many signatures could be acquired in just one day if various sites around the city were set up with the petitions and then have those sites broadcasted on all the news channels for a couple days prior, including the day of.  It would save the petitioner a lot of leg work too!  (That is, unless he's a 'Trojan Horse' hired by Kwame to make sure no legimate petition gets filed.)  Wonder if Steve W has found anything out on that yet.

I, too agree with Kathy.  Very good points.

Doodles, as I wrote yesterday, I saw on the news that there was a "recall rally" in Detroit.  But guess what?  Only two people showed up (CB's husband's uncle Chris Beatty, and a woman).

Sad to say, but I just don't think the people of Detroit have the will or the fortitude to see a recall through to fruition.  And I would not be surprised at all to see KK win yet another election as Mayor of Detroit!

    Re: Guiles already showing favoritism

Ironically enough you can tell the individuals who do not live in Detroit. Their comments are coarse, and defammatory. And yet, how does that quote go..... "Sarcasm is a substitute for Intelligence". I am really getting a bit fed up with outsiders. Telegraph to the West, Alter to the East, 8 Mile to the North, and the Detroit River borders this City. To me the late Coleman A. Young said it best in response to the statement.... "Turn the lights out, Detroit is done". " Anybody who doesn't like Detroit hit 8 Mile Rd. And many of  those who took that statement to heart, eventually came back though many of them won't admit it. (By the way, L. Brooks Patterson made the statement)

Saying that to say this, the Judicial System is what it is. And yet, there are many levels of it. Anyone who believes any different is extremely naive. We have (3) three Court Systems that operate daily in our fair City. We have a City Court, a State Court, and a Federal Court who all operate Monday thru Friday at least from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  And let's not forget they all have their own versions of night court as well. So to imply anything as ludacris to say.... "Already showing Favoritsim"  warrants an equally idiotic response.   "DUH !!"  The WHOLE COUNTRY has their eyes on this one. Trust me if the "I's" aren't dotted, and the "T's" aren't crossed on this one, there will be H--L to pay.

So to all of the individuals who come to the City to purposely portray Detroit in a bad light. You know when you come to Tigers, Red Wing, and Lions games remember one thing. It's easy to put blame on everything, and everyone else. But, how would you feel if the spotlight is on you. You know like that moron who poured his beer on Ron Artest ? When it was all said and done he wasn't a resident. But, who got the blame... the City of Detroit. The average fan is not a moron, and does not want to be treated as such. And myself as a Resident, NEITHER do I.

    Re: Surprise from the Freep

    Cheryl48:

    From the Freep Wednesday morning:

Tuesday's filing deadline for this year's elections brought surprises in races from Detroit congressman to Oakland County prosecutor.

The biggest shock may be that the Rev. Horace Sheffield III, the well-known pastor of New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, is running against U.S. Rep. John Conyers. Conyers has represented the mostly Detroit district since 1964.

    ************

How did we miss this one?

In Sundays Freep (I believe miamia brought it here) there were no challengers for J. Conyers seat. Sheffield must have filed at the last minute.

With CB's uncle showing up it might show a little sympathy towards CB from the people.  But he has to remember his niece lied and was in on this.  He just might be against both.  Maybe people are really fearful to be shown out in public recalling KK.

    NO GUTS NO GLORY!

Watson was giving KK the benefit of the doubt cause she can see the evidence and wrong doings just piling up on him.  And what did he do..like he did w/ everyone else screwed them.

    That's sad plain sad.

Sympathy is not what this is about. To my knowledge, that IS what this is about KNOWLEDGE. Along with the who, what, why, when, and where all this got started. They have the ACCUSED, they are currently on trial. Eventhough many feel that the Poll Of Public Opinion carries weight in a Court of Law. Be wary that OPINIONS are just that. And the ONLY ones that are REALLY going to matter are the Judges who preside over the various cases in these coming months. The right to speculate sure, but to be Judge, Jury, and Executioner without a Law Degree is wasted fodder for print.

In my opinion law degree SOMETIMES doesn't even matter......like everything else....it's who you know, what you know, and money talks.  Sad to say.

OKAY, HOW ABOUT THIS COURSE OF ACTION, WE GET KWAME A ONE WAY TICKET TO AFRICA, SUPPLY HIM WITH A LOIN CLOTH, A SPEAR AND A NICE VINE TO SWING ON AND GIVE HIM HIS CHOICE OF ONE WOMAN TO TAKE WITH HIM, EITHER CONYERS, REEVES, BEATTY, OR HIS WIFE AND IF HE AGREES TO STAY IN AFRICA FOR 20 YEARS THEN DROP ALL CHARGES AGAINST HIM. DOE'S ANYBODY OBJECT TO THIS..?
