I read the paper from front and back, watched the news at noon and haven't heard any reference to recent comments she made.  Maye comments from Tuesday were being referenced.?????

    Re: RE: Monica Conyers

I totally agree that there is something between the Mayor and Ms. Conyers.  I think there is also something between the Mayor and Sharon McPhail.  I seem to recall a few years back she accused him of trying to electocute her using her own chair.  Did she all of a sudden forgive and forget.  There has to be something there as well.  This whole situation is a travesty!  I also don't tell people I'm from Detroit.  I tell them Ann Arbor.  The Mayor should save everyone the trouble and save the taxpayers any more money by just resigning.  His wife is no better.  She is in up to her neck as well with a lot of the other matters surrounding the infamous party and Tamara Green.   What a pair!!!

    Seymourhundley:
Have we forgotten about a standard of our Nation's judicial system and what is stated before each trial begins after jury selection that the accused is presumed to be innocent until all proofs are received in evidence?  So is the case of Mayor Kilpatrick and Christine Beatty.  The media has exposed a situation that has captured the attention of all.  It is not to blame the media for reporting a story, but in the case of Mayor Kilpatrick it has distracted all the good that has occurred during his administration and the visions for the future of a great City.  Detroit had become stagnant and lacked growth in business, but today we see new businesses and new residential development popping up all over Detroit.  Little is said of his revitilazation of our City, because so much time is caught up in the scandal of sex, lies and text messages.  City Council should be about the business of the City and leave the matter of the law to the Courts.  Let the trial go forward and in the event Mayor Kilpatrick is convicted, then the matter is closed.  It is an imcredible waste of tax dollars to use Council time on a witch hunt to decide what to do with the Mayor.  The Mayor and his Chief of Staff may be morally corrupt, but that is a matter for their love ones and GOD to deal with.  If he seek redemption, repents and is forgiven that is a matter for Carlita and GOD.  We are too busy convicting the Mayor for past trangressions, things that happened more than six (6) years ago.  As to the perjury the trial goes on and the Mayor will have his day in Court as all Americans have as a right.

    Kwame (oops)  I mean Seymore,

You can fight your battle as a private citizen. If found innocent "I mean Not Guilty"....  not to be confussed with (Aquitted based on technicality or paper work snafu) then the citizens can re-elect you in 09. Since you are an IDIOT and we all know you are  .....then the citizens would not have let you ... a known  child molester continue to run the day care center un-supervised  (post molestation allegations). GOD can forgive you while your serve your full sentence in Federal Prison.  Who cares what Carlita thinks she is nothing more than a gold digger.

    Boycott Kwame Supporters Group

    Re: Boycott Kwame Supporters Group

The New York City Transit situation is an entirely different situation. Those members who attend the meetings at the Detroit Economic Club are not the enemy. When Ford, G.M., and Chrysler make their decisions it affects a nation. When CompUWare, or Quicken Loans make decisions they affect a nation. Don't make this something into something that it isn't.

I was here when National Cash Register  Main Headquarters in Highland Park. I can supply you with a significant list of Business that CHOSE to take their business OUT of the City. And yet the Dayton Hudson Corporation still has a significant dollar figure to our Thanksgiving Day Parade.

What is in question here are the actions of ONE man, and the people around him who made it work. No more, no less and saying the contrary does not make it so. The political machine can be a nasty one. And anyone who doesn't realize that by now is strictly naive. It takes more to stay in office than it does to get in office. And ANY politician who is worth his weight, at least attempts to keep his word. And that is to serve the people while they are in office.

    Karmano's support? Sounds strange

Anyone find Karmanos’s statement strange supporting the Mayor, saying “he’s the best we got"?  Shouldn’t be a shocker, Mayor Kilpatrick and his wife Carlita, were part of a special birthday party arranged by. Danialle, Karmanos for her husband, the nine close friends attended the birthday party, flying in a private plan to Cleveland, Ohio.  The nine close friends attending the special birthday were Presidential candidate Mitt Romney,  model May Anderson, former MTV Vice President Tanya Heidelberg-Yopp and husband Roger, with Kidd Rock singing “Happy Birthday”.   What a cozy group!

Something stinks!    Mitt Romney?    And some sort of odd push polling phone calls gong on about the prosecutor, strange calls being made by an unknown group?  Ya!  Where was there odd push polling being done during the campaign.... pretty odd.

What other dirty could be there be.............. if one fall's do they all begin to fall?

    Re: Testing, Testing, 1-2-3...

It's a shame that Mr. Peter Karmanos thinks that the mayor should be for given!  It shows how the CEO in this country thinks!  No wonder United States is going down the drian! People like CEO Karmanos are a book of u less knowlege.  One time John F. Kennedy told America " ask not what your country can do for you.  But what you can do for the country! I think it's about time America goverment starts helping us out.  America people have suffered lone enough.  Are for fathers have died for this country not to let it go to h___!  I was taught to believe, to take care of home first and then take care of others when you can.  No wonder the crime has gone up.  People are losing there houses.  Killings have gone up and not to mention millions have not medical insurance. I fell sorry for the people of Detroit!  All this money that the courts after to use just too try to get Kwame out of offfice.  In the dictionary it should say Politician, goverment and crime is the samething.  I understand no one perfect.  But if you hired for any job, then do your job right and if not get terminated just like anyone else. We the people, means we the government.  This is why people run for government to line the pockets. That is where Kwame went wrong! Thanks for letting me vent out.  Daddydoe.

    Re: Testing, Testing, 1-2-3...

I agree with you it is a shame! It's a shame Kwame's friends don't know right from wrong. I bet, it goes deeper than that--- they don't care about right from wrong.

Maybe, Kwame leaned a little on his 'friends', after all birds of a feather flock together, and the birthday party there may be other reasons these guys are such tight friends.

Money? someone said they would still have their money?

There may be the no true words spoken there!  It may be about money, money, money and more money, and money and money and money...........   maybe even a little 'dirty' money?.......

And yet, he's the one on trial. So the process doesn't happen like a television program. Real life operates a little differently from fiction. So unless you will be content with a wait and see attitude. This is going to be a long hot summer for you.

    Kwame Missing Court

    Dear Readers,

Today Kwame missed court - wasn't even in the state.  Yes, I just read that Judge Giles gave his attorneys a "tongue lashing", but had that been my son, or your son, a bench warrant would have been issued within FIVE minutes.  If fact, when my son was in court for a traffic violation, his attorney didn't arrive in time.  My son went out into the hallway to look for him, and during that time his name was called.  Because he didn't answer (being out in the hall) a bench warrant was issued on the spot and it took the entire remainder of the day to void it out and convince the judge that he was there as ordered.   Also......there is NOTHING fair about waiting until September for Kwame's preliminary hearing.  Believe me, Executive Privilege is raining and reigning ALL OVER THE PLACE.!!!!!

    Re: Kwame Missing Court

Leoncat,  I agree, totally.  The smirk on his face in the papers yesterday, spoke volumes!  I hope we all have learned one thing out of this, if nothing else.  Stop letting these politicians con us into second chances!  That goes for Granholm, as well.  Do the job right the first time and your track record will speak for itself!
