    Re: Mayors scandal, Mother's comment

    truthone:

    I've just heard the statement that Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick made regarding her disappointment in Prosecutor  Worthy and I am apalled. Whatever the outcome of the legal issues at hand , Kwami Kilpatrick has made bad decisions that have led to this.

    Ms. Worthy has done nothing but her job and from today's media coverage, appears to have done it honourably and well. Something Kwami should have been doing all along and he would not find himself  faced with this now.

    It is time our politicians and all elected officials begin to see that we expect no less than actions that speak to integrity and the highest good of  all the citizenry in the daily decisions  we see being made. We have  not seen that from him and enough is enough.

    Carolyn Kilpatrick should be expressing her disappointment in the bad decisions her son has made, even as she supports him in making the best ones for the city as well as his family in the days ahead. That is what a good parent does. To deny and place blame on others instead of assuming responsibility for one's own actions is reprehensible. It is one of the earliest lessons our children should be taught. Shame on you Mother Kilpatrick.

    The apple doesn't fall far from the tree

    KK will never be an effective leader again.He might as well remain defiant because it doesn,t matter. THE PARTYS OVER

    YOU BET; foxydog; the parties over. Want to lay wages on how long it takes Carlita and the boys to split???? As long as he remains defiant,,, he has a little leeway/barganing chip. If he quits,,, where's the barganing chip? Gotta keep at least one in your back pocket,, if you're not packed to leave yet.

    Kilpatrick is getting what Coleman A Young should have got 25 years ago...
    Perhaps, you should leave Mr. Coleman Young out of this.  He was not married and did not cost the city millions to pay for his pleasure!  Four good officers lost their jobs and good names from this mess.  Bowman, Mr. Brown, Nelthrope, Harris

    KK should go hide behind his mama's skirt.  Beatty better think of her children or is she guilty of something else????? HMMM   Who/where  is the father of Ms. Greene's last child??????

    Re: Re:THE DEMON Mayor's Scandal: Prosecutor's Decision

    Well I guess it's a good day in Detroit, hats off to Miss Worthy I liked the way she spoke it was clear and understandable. No fancy legal words that would leave us scratching our heads.  Now what, I guess I hope a few more heads will roll at City Hall and the police dept. That would be good.  Who will be the one to talk, mmm may Christine after all he's done to her.Also what is up with that deputy mayor, what an ass. He must be afraid of something/someone?? maybe he's next. How many will be held in contempt of court the one name I heard  is Peoples is that a relative of the mayor. Just clean house. That lawyer of KK's reminds me of a sneaky snake. I heard on the radio that this story made to breaking news in Britain. Now he is the laughing stock of the world. Now when will we hear the truth from the fired cops. I want to know about Tamara Greene and will the other two be strong enough to come forward. Can Granholm or Cox remove KK from office now?

    And whats you're point there RayStar? Your right in as much as Mr. Young (of whom was not married, but fathered a fatherless child, non the less) doen't belong in this forum anymore than GWBush belongs here,or Clinton, and I've even heard on a radio station where Sarpton jumped in today, but people ARE entitled to their opinion..... and this is the most POSITIVE OPINION's I've heard since this Farse broke loose. I like to hear/read the positive input.

    Yes he should pay for his lies. But in reality he won't pay for them because he gets paid by the tax payers so they are the ones that pay for his lies. Deb

    Re: Mayor's Scandal: Prosecutor's Decision and Barricades

    Whatif - the voting, taxpaying public actually acted responsibly for a change and held their elected, free-wheeling, junket fact finding, above-the-law politicians accountable for their actions?

    Whatif - Kwame and our elected officials, whose salaries we are paying, actually had some ethics, honor and integrity?

    It is despicable to see so many misguided residents state, publically no less, that Kwame shouldn't resign.  So much for an educated, elightened and free-thinking electorate.

    Kym Worthy has her say

    Will Mayor Kilpatrick listen now?

    March 24, 2008

    function NewWindow(height,width,url) { window.open(url,"ShowProdWindow","menubars=0,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,height="+height+",width="+width); } function snl_click(social_utility) { u=location.href; t=document.title; if(social_utility == "facebook") { window.open('http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u='+encodeURIComponent(u)+'&t='+encodeURIComponent(t),'sharer','toolbar=0,status=0,width=626,height=436'); } if(social_utility == "digg") { window.open('http://digg.com/submit?phase=2&url='+encodeURIComponent(u)+'&title='+encodeURIComponent(t)); } if(social_utility == "delicious") { window.open('http://del.icio.us/post?v=2&url='+encodeURIComponent(u)+'&title='+encodeURIComponent(t)); } if(social_utility == "reddit") { window.open('http://reddit.com/submit?url='+encodeURIComponent(u)+'&title='+encodeURIComponent(t)); } if(social_utility == "newsvine") { window.open('http://www.newsvine.com/_tools/seed&save?u='+encodeURIComponent(u)+'&T='+encodeURIComponent(t)); } return false; }

    Looks like she really threw the book at ‘em. A dozen counts is more than most people were expecting. And it seemed clear if you watched Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy’s news conference, that she feels personally offended as a defender of the law and justice, by what she has learned and the attitude of its officials in this text message scandal.
    OAS_AD('ArticleFlex_1');

    And Worthy said she’s not done, indicating more people are going to face charges on more issues. A charge is just that, not a conviction. But this is a remarkable day, sadly historic for the city. But isn’t it about time somebody drew a line on Kilpatrick and said, “enough!” This is serious stuff. Worthy said “we have had conversations” with federal authorities, too. Now how can the city function very well with a mayor facing up to 15 years in prison? Remember when Kilpatrick said he felt he was on an assignment from God to be mayor of Detroit? Sounded like Worthy said she was answering to a higher power, too — the law, justice, the truth.

    Re: Mayors scandal, Mother's comment

    Perhaps this explains why King Kilpatrick did not learn the lessons Kym Worthy spoke about when he was a 5 year old.  His mother taught him how to blame instead of teaching him that lying is wrong, taking things that do not belong to you is wrong and it is wrong to hurt others in order to save yourself, especially if you are wrong to begin with.

    Re: Council person Conyers! You take a Leave!!!

    The people of California recalled the governer before Arnie... Why can't the people of Detroit recall their mayor?
