    Sandi M:

Please know that we would like the Governor to act quickly on removing Kwame Kilpatrick from office. We would hate to see more turmoil for the state of Michigan. Please Gov. Granholm make a stand and do the right thing for the people and our children of this state. We want people to move back here and why would anyone want to when we have people in charge we can not trust or look up too. It is sad what is happening here in Michigan as it is. Do not let the media drag us all through the mud with Kilpatrick. We do not need a O.J. Simpson Circus nor do we want the city to turn out like the Rodney King fiasco. We should learn from our past. Enough is enough. Please do the right thing for ALL of Michigan. Please let us keep some of our integrity that Mayor Kilpatrick has not. Nip this in the bud NOW to avoid a division of the people. Detroit does not need some one like him as a political leader! Sincerely,  D. S. Marsh, Port Huron, MI

You need to send that letter to Gov Grandholm and the city couoncil. there email address's are on their web sites. But if you can't find them I will gladly do it for you

Sure, the Mayor may have lied about these things, but what right does the press and the public have to convict and persecute him before he is even tried by a jury of his peers. The same goes for his  Chief of staff.

The City Council should be held accountable for their part in paying out the lawsuit too fast.  They should have thought this process through very carefully before any monies was paid out. I feel they paid too fast. Which brings another question, Why did they pay right away.  Most lawsuits take years before any money is approved to be paid. It seems that none of them even questioned the fact that so much of the taxpayers HARD EARNED DOLLARS was just sqandered off like the city has millions to throw around.

Now they are sitting back and asking for the Mayor's resignation. They haven't done a very good job themselves. All they do is argue and fight all the time.

As far as them holding back money from the Mayor and the city, the same should be for the as well. They (City Council) has demonstrated that they can't manage the city's finances either. Everyone needs to leave the Mayor alone and let the jury find him guilty or innocent or whatever the case maybe.

I think this situation is going to get real messy before it is all over with and The City Council should be on trial too for paying the money so fast with no investigation of their own.

And I hope you attend his rally's and prayer vigils.  Be sure to bring your support money cause he needs it to pay his lawyers, you see he has used up all the taxpayers money

The city council does appear to be a three ring circus at times, they were duped by the mayor and his group including people from the law dept and Christine Beatty.  And have you not noticed they are trying to clean up this mess, they are taking steps to correct problems.

No one needs to leave the mayor alone, he brought this on himself, and by staying in office he is causing it to continue on. So brind on the protesters, bring on the press, bring on the national media.  He is the one doing this TO HIMSELF

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

I am glad to see that Kym Worthy executed her duties as Wayne County Prosecutor and brought charges against both the Mayor and Christine Beatty.

It stands to reason that Kwame would not only NOT step down as Mayor but hire a Weasel to defend him. The idea that he is innocent because the Text Messages that prove the charges against him might have been obtained illegally is as asinine!! Also the notion that no one has ever been charged with perjury during testimony in a Civil Suite is equally absurd. To lie under oath is perjury irregardless of what type of trial is being conducted when the lies are told. I resent the fact that Kwame has hired attorneys that think the citizens of not only Detroit but the entire state are dumb enough to believe the crap they are telling. The prayer services that are being conducted should be for a lightening bolt to be directed at all the guilty parties. Lets see if after the lightening bolts if Kwame and Christine will be around.

I never expected Kwame to step down. He is too arrogant to abide by the will of the people because he has convinced himself hat he is carrying out the will of the people no matter what the poles indicate.

King Kwame will rule until he is carted off to jail in handcuffs.

SHAME ON HIM!!!... aside from the fact that he has once again made a laughing stock of the law abiding, tax paying, hard working citizens of Detroit and the entire State of Michigan. Dosen't he have any personal pride. If I were him I would be as ashamed that I would hide under a rock...where  he belongs.

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

Some people compared the mayor to clinton, Clinton didn't cost washington dc. nor the country money, and if his lady friend life was ruin she did that herself by telling, maybe the mayor feels if he holds on to his job he want go to jail, now come on right is right as rain and wrong is wrong all day long.

Your right, but breaking the law of man is between hem and the city of Detroit. His pastor said he pray's for and back's the Mayor but dose he pary for and back the law's of the land? No man shoud be above the law. If you do the crime, you must do the time.

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

He has no shame and, obviously, no pride in himself, the city or his family.  His refusing to step down just keeps the spotlight on them.  Everyone says to leave his family alone, but it's all his fault and he keeps fueling the fire by staying in office.  It truly is a shameful affair for everyone in this area.  Tonight I saw his bio in wikipedia and it is a huge embarrassment to everyone in the state.  How long is he going to insist on staying there?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwame_Kilpatrick

His kids do not deserve this, but his wife has brought this on herself by putting up with his actions.  If she really did "allegedly" attack that "alleged" dancer at that "alleged" party, she knew what he was about and she made the choice for herself and the kids to live like that.  The kids really are the innocent victims in all this as they had no choice, but his wife had a choice and chose for all of them to stay with this thug.  Is this the kind of role model she wants her boys to grow up to be like?  Did she really think such a corrupt administration as he has run would never get caught?  Or is she a moron who just believed anything he told her?  Or did she just like the perks, like her navigator, mansion, etc. too much and make the choice to live like that for the material benefits?  Doesn't really matter why she chose to do so, but those poor kids........

Re: Detroit Mayor's Text Message Sex Scandal

I have been following this scandal since it started. I have a question, I watched Steve Wilson's investigation last week about the private jets back and forth from Florida, and the high cost of it,over $43000 or something like that. Why the heck does KK need a legal defense fund, when he's got it like that? I like Detroit and I am so sorry that this man is embarrassing Detroit all over the world. Please don't be stupid and give a crook like that a dime of your hard earned money.I would say he's already spent enough of it.

I see they have a site to contribute money for the mayors defense. Is there a site anywhere people can contribute to the Wayne County Prosecutors Office for putting this liar away for a long period of time? I am retired and can hardly afford my medications, but I would love to help the county prosecutors office.

    Civic fund

On May 8, 2007, WXYZ reported that Kilpatrick used $8,600 from his secret Kilpatrick Civic Fund to take his wife, three sons and babysitter on a week long vacation to a five-star California resort, the La Costa Resort and Spa.[61] The fund, controlled by Kilpatrick's sister and friends, was created to improve the city of Detroit through voter education, economic empowerment and crime prevention. Tax and accounting experts said Kilpatrick's use of the fund was a violation of IRS regulations.[62] The story was also compounded after WXYZ's cameras caught Kilpatrick in a fit of rage grabbing the microphone out of the hand of reporter Ray Sayah and throwing it hard across the room such that it hit a wall, while Sayah tried to question him about the situation.

I can't believe Shanon McPhail referred to Gary Browns settlement money as a lottery win for him. Is she for real???
