    Re: Mildred Gaddis and WADL

Don't miss Steve Wilson tonight he is doing a piece on Mildred Gaddis who has parted her ways with WADL.  She has been doing interviews with candidates such as Charles Pugh and they were charged $1,000.00 for being on her TV show - a pay for play. He feels there should have been a disclaimer or she should have told people that these candidates paid to go on her TV show. The problem was this was not announced that this was a paid for interview.  Steve feels she represents herself as a journalist and yet charged a fee.  He is on her show this morning - It will be on at 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM.

Thanks for the tip Keo. This should be interesting. I went to the WADL website and was amused by the fact that Ziedmans jewelers are one of their sponsors. Lower left corner of the home page. http://www.wadldetroit.com/newsite/

This is from the Detroit News website. It just gets stranger every day. Here is an incident from 2003 where Monica sued DPS. Torn rectum??? I don't think that was from the fall. I think it was due to her being full of sh^t. If I fell twice at Cobo, I would think twice about going back a third time.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Schools paid Conyers for slip and fall
Monica Conyers told viewers that leading efforts to kill a plan to turn over Cobo Center to a regional authority was one of her proudest moments as a council member, along with efforts to save the Detroit Zoo and lower rates for water and garbage.
But records show Conyers was injured at Cobo Center in 2003, leading to a prolonged fight with Detroit Public Schools over a worker's compensation claim she filed while an attendance officer and substitute teacher, according to records from the Workers' Compensation Agency. The district initially balked at the claim, but paid her $64,012, according to records obtained by The Detroit News through the Freedom of Information Act.
On Dec. 4, 2003, she slipped and fell while at a seminar in Cobo Center and damaged her right knee, according to the claims. Then on June 3, 2004, that knee gave out, causing her to fall and hurt her left knee. Then on June 24, 2004, she fell again, injuring both knees and tearing her rectum, according to the records.

I hope she moves to Texas after all this.

    just amazed:
    Missy55367:

While Kwame gave some sort of apology when he was ultimately backed up against a wall, and then sort of admitted some tiny form of guilt, Monica has shown no remorse whatsoever!   If anything, her guilty plea has emboldended her to be even more rude, combative and self-righteous than ever!

And I would like to know WHY she thinks she isn't going to jail?  If she doesn't I would truly be pi$$ed.  Does she think it's all over because she pleaded guilty?  And what was up with the "If I let you down ........." I am sorry.

I read a comment under one of the Free Press stories that stated that she took the plea because the judge is extremely liberal, and she thought she'd get off with probation.

Like the rest of the world, I am praying, as Monica asked. PRAYING that the above is not true!  I would say the consensus of the many comments I've read on these sites is that people are expecting her to spend three years in prison.  If she is given anythng less, I think all hell will break lose around here!

IDIOT!  When someone falls, it's often because they're a klutz!  Once in a while, the property owner may be at fault, but most likely it's something that could be avoided.  But of course this criminal would see $$$ even if she broke a nail while on city property.

And $64K for a knee injury?  PLEASE

Of course the "rectum" part, that tax has highlighted for us, is "poetic justice" for this woman, isn't it?

    BRIAN DICKERSON

Bringing Martha Reeves up to speed

BY BRIAN DICKERSON • FREE PRESS COLUMNIST • July 2, 2009

    • Martha Reeves city councilwoman, arriving at Metro Airport on Monday evening for a respite from an international concert tour

It was late afternoon when Martha Reeves' chief of staff finally got her boss on the phone.

"Do you have any idea what time it is?" Motown's ultimate soul diva answered testily. "Good thing I was already awake."

"It's 5 p.m.," the aide said. "Local TV is playing video of you telling some English interviewer about your 'second job' on the council."

"Five pee-what?" Reeves demanded. "What the ... what city am I in?"

"You're home, boss," the aide said. "And I need you to be wide awake, because there's a lot I have to bring you up to speed on."

"I'll say," Reeves said. "For one thing, the interior light in the backseat of my Crown Vic is still out. I thought you were taking care of that."

"The driver called the dealer twice," the aide said. "They're having trouble getting the bulb, because the supplier's in Chapter 11."

"Well, tell the supplier to put his stupid book down and get me the freakin' bulb. Call Rick Wagoner if you have to."

    Calling Mayor Cockrel

"With all due respect, boss, we've got bigger fish to fry. You've heard about Councilwoman Conyers?"

"Aren't I supposed to go on her TV show this week? She said she was going to endorse me on the air."

"I don't think we want to do that any more. And I canceled the joint fund-raiser, too, at least until we know what Judge Cohn is going to do."

"Who the heck is Judd Cohen?" Reeves asked, thoroughly confused.

"I'll explain that later. Right now, we need to talk about Cobo Hall."

"Oh, yeah. Someone told me the state was hatching a new regional management deal."

"It's hatched, ma'am. And there are no job set-asides for Detroit residents."

"What?!" Reeves thundered. "I told my dry cleaner his nephew's security contract at Cobo was a lock!"

"Well, there's no provision for that in the new deal," the aide says. "And the mayor says he has the votes for approval."

    -->(2 of 2)

"Well, you just tell Mayor Cockrel we need to have a sit-down," Reeves said.

    triggerAd(2,PaginationPage,14);

    "Um, yes ma'am."

    Let them drink Perrier

"By the way, I keep getting text messages from constituents complaining about water rate hikes. Tell Mayor Cockrel I want to talk about that, too!"

"I'm afraid it's a little late, ma'am. Higher water rates are a done deal."

"Says who?" Reeves shot back. "I talked to the guy who delivers my water, and he says Costco is actually charging less for a case of Perrier than it did a year ago."

"I think your constituents are complaining about the city's water rates," the aide explained.

"Well, they should go to Costco."

"Yes, ma'am. Just one more thing before I let you go back to sleep: We're about to sign a short-term lease for a campaign headquarters."

"Don't do that," Reeves commanded. "That Claude Cleaver told me he can get me a bargain rate on some first-floor space in the Lafayette Building."

"You mean Clyde Cleveland?" the aide said. "He's no longer with us."

    "I didn't even know we'd hired him."

"Ma'am, I think you should go back to bed."

"I don't think I have time," Reeves said. "I've got to catch a plane to Detroit."

I keep thinking about this, and have been scratching my head all day trying to figure out how the HE!! you get a tear in your rectum falling on your knees.  And now it just makes me laugh trying to figure it out.  My sister, who is quite a Klutz, falls all the time, its really embarrassing, but all the same we usually have a good laugh over some of her falls, well we have discussed this and we can not even come up with how she could have done this.  All the same It was another good laugh.
