    Breaking News

Mayor Bing officially named Warren Evans as the new Chief of police for Detroit.

If I hear ONE more city official use the phrase "at the end of the day", I will jump off the Belle Isle bridge. This is the most overused phrase. Kwame (Ho #1) used it, Monica used it, Chrissy Beatty (Ho #2) used it prior to being smacked down by Kym Worthy.

I have no idea what to think of Warren Evans being hired. I have no idea what to think now of Mildred Gaddis or John Bennet or anyone else in this city. The raabbit hole is so deep that just when you think you have the good guys seperated from the bad guys, something comes up to throw it all into disarray.

    Re: Mildred Gaddis and WADL

I sent Mildred a note about how she has transformed before our ears. She once was a voice of reason and responsibility, but now is on the shady side. Wonder if I will get a reply???  Oops, gotta go, or I will miss the turnip truck.

I haven't been following Mildred, but so many of the characters in Detroit politics are dubious in character.  I actually thought Sam Riddle was credible at one point!

So far, Ken Cockrel seems to be the only guy who's been forthright throughout all of this.  But we see how much the voters of Detroit valued that quality!  Why vote for an competent public servant when you can have an ex-NBA-er in there?

My list of good guys keeps getting shorter. I too thought that the Riddler had some ethics at one point in time when he seperated himself from Monica but alas, he was just ticked off cause she wanted a bigger cut of the bribes. I used to think Cockrel was okay but some of the stuff he did or didn't do made me change my mind to some extent. As I said in an earlier post, I have no friggin clue who to believe in anymore. They all seem to be crooks. Some are just better at hiding it.

FBI net slowly closing in on Kwame...I hope

DETROIT (WXYZ) - US District Court Documents show that Southfield City Councilman William Lattimore has been charged with bribery.

The federal charges contend Lattimore "knowingly and corruptly accepted $7,500, intending to be rewarded and influenced in connection with his official duties." They come a month after Lattimore's name surfaced in connection with a federal probe into Zeidman's Jewelry & Loan. Zeidman's is a pawn shop that has moved into Southfield.

Other names that have surfaced in connection with the probe are Detroit political consultant Sam Riddle, former Detroit state Representative Mary Waters and former Detroit City Council President Pro Tem Monica Conyers.

Conyers a no-show on last day in office

Christine MacDonald / The Detroit News

Detroit --A staffer for Monica Conyers was still answering her City Council office phone late this morning, but the president pro tem was no where in sight on her last day in office today.

Conyers, who plead guilty last month to conspiracy to commit bribery, will officially resign her post at midnight tonight.

Several of her staffers were in the building and could be seen moving items out of the office. Her photo was taken off the City Council Web site as of Monday morning.

    MJ Funeral

I wonder if our favorite Motown singer (the one whose "second job" is that of Detroit city councilwoman) will be at Michael Jackson's funeral tomorrow.  I'm sure she'll be there if she can weasil her way in.

She probably wanted to be paid so she is not invited.

“John Conyers, the Michigan congressman, got hitched this week in a wedding so private that his chief of staff claimed to know nothing about it. According to the marriage license, his wife was born in 1964 -- the same year the 61-year-old Conyers won his first congressional election, the Detroit Free Press reported Thursday. Records at the Wayne County Clerk’s Office show he married Monica Ann Esters, 25, of Detroit. Records also indicated the marriage Monday was Conyers’ first. “Why would he have gotten married? What are people saying? What’s the scuttlebutt?” Julian Epstein queried about the wedding. Conyers’ spokeswoman Leslie Kaufman said Thursday that she would not confirm or deny the reported marriage.”

Wedding Gift: U.S. Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), 61, and his wife of one month have become parents. Monica Ann Esters, 25, gave birth to a son Thursday at Grace Hospital in Detroit. The mother and baby were in good condition Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said. The June 4 marriage was the first for Conyers, who is seeking his 14th term and has no Democratic challengers. He was unavailable for comment late last week.

    Re: Warren Evans

    From  Michigan Chronicle article:  http://www.michronicleonline.com/articlelive/articles/2998/1/All-eyes-on-Manoogian-Mansion/Page1.html

"Wayne County Sheriff Warren Evans is respected among the corporate community and his grassroots ties are another plus. If he officially announces his candidacy, his law enforcement resumé will be very attractive to corporate Detroit because crime has been an ever-present issue for residents and those who do not live in Detroit but work and have heavy investments in the city.

Evans, whose uncle, Albert Cleage, founded the Shrine of the Black Madonna, will easily win the support of a Black institution that has over the years prided itself as the learning center for Black elected officials – the same school Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, Detroit City Council members Barbara-Rose Collins, JoAnn Watson, Kwame Kenyatta and others graduated from. Even though emphasis on skin color, in my view, is always superficial, Evans wouldn’t be questioned about his Blackness. The challenge for the Wayne County Sheriff will be whether he is known enough in Detroit – which is different from being popular in Wayne County."

Let's see. Monica was born in 1964 which means she was conceived in 1963.

Further investigation reveals the following........"Butch Patrick (born Patrick Alan Lilley on August 2, 1953 in Los Angeles, California), is a former American child actor best known for his role as Herman ..."

That is really sick. That means that Eddie Munster was having sex with someone at age NINE!!!
