    Re: kit1007 mail fix

I am just going to take a chance of putting my e mail down. My mail @ kit1007@wideopen mail .com. crashed and since I can't open or even see new mail. . So if people have responded to me in the past and got  no e mail allowed at such address that why. I feel locked  inside of the stone age, I have caught bits  and pieces of what is in the dark. This is the only place I can count on or something.

Hope all is OK with you dear friends  . Things are OK here and my ear Doctor is talking about the second ear being implanted is helpful to the patient. Gee Wiz how long did it take someone to figure that out?

Sorry I am not as talkative but I was going through scuff. I don't know who even did well at the poles, SHAME ON ME,

A lesson to be learned and used daily. , I am here  and am so glad that you all have stayed o the ball with this, Kathy

I do believe that KK and a few others will see the darkness for a longime,

Time to get back on the ball for me.

Just don't do anything financial at the coffee shop. I am going through some stuff. Have to work to keep my insurance but my employer not disciplining the slackers. I have to do a lot of their stuff. Guess none of us have a perfect life. How is your hearing? Any improvement?

    Wilson story on Kwame finances

    http://www.wxyz.com/mediacenter/local.aspx?videoid=24188@wxyz.dayport.com&navCatId=16

This is the Steve Wilson report. I can't believe that Kwame's lawyer is claiming Kim Worthy is doing this for political gain. If the stupid ba$tard had just gone to Texas and kept paying his restituion he would have never been bothered again. The trouble began when he tried to say he could not afford 6k a month. He was sitting on a pile of cash but he wanted to screw over this city even more than he has thus far. What a joke.

should we be surprised.  this is just a typical kk move with an attorney that will grab at anything.  I hope Wilson and Worthy continue to back him in a corner and eventually nail him to the wall.  Don't know worthy personally but past performance shows that when she is on a mission she sticks with it until it is accomplished even against all odds.

nice to see others are in the "dark" with computers.  I even took two classes but couldn't apply the operating system used in class to the not user friendly Vista.

Kathy, often they try one implant to determine the level of success.  Depends on many factors when considering one or two,  Imagine if they did that with breast implants.  Try one and see how the body accepts it.  That would be a lopsided look and I would think some shoulder pain. :0)  Stay well.

Kathy, I don't know, specifically, what is wrong with your e-mail, but call WOW, who appears to be your provider (based on your email address).  They are always so helpful when I've ever needed them.  Their number is 866-496-9669.

The good thing about them is that they now have their own e-mail server!  My Outlook has been down for a while, and then my Outlook Express crashed within the last few months. So now I'm on WOW e-mail, and everthing is OK.

And like the rest of you, I am no computer genius either!  My computer broke down; I went got a new one, found that Vista was a disaster and sent the computer back.  Now I just bought a new one (w/Windows 7), and found that a platform I need for my trading would not be supported by Windows 7 until the middle of next year!  So since funds are short, that PC is going back as well!

I am envious of people who are good at technology, because I'm not.  I almost want to cry at times; I am so frustrated with these computer issues!

6:30 PM Saturday - FYI: Congress is on C-Span and they are going to vote on the 2,000 page Health care bill.  If you do not have cable you can steam in live on your computer.  We can see which one of our congressmen vote of this bill.

    Interesting questions

The following questions are from a Forbes magazine article. I only copied the second page of the article. You can find the entire article at the Forbes website.

    ===================================================================

    5. In this era of "sophisticated markets," many of the deals involve financial instruments that are way too complex for most people to understand. If we cannot understand them, how can we regulate them?

The famous Bethany McLean and Peter Elkind book about Enron's shenanigans, "The Smartest Guys in the Room," argued that Enron's managers hid behind the complexity of their deals -- which only they could understand. Everybody respected them for being so smart and gave them a pass. How is this different from Madoff, or indeed from the events that led to the banking crisis?

In a democracy, we do not say politicians are too smart for us to understand, therefore more power to them. If our financial institutions depend on us to survive, they should fall under democratic rules.

    6. We are told that Goldman Sachs (GS, news, msgs) was so smart that it divested from toxic assets and from AIG (AIG, news, msgs) ahead of the bust. Indeed Goldman's withdrawal probably led everyone else to abandon AIG, which triggered its collapse, which in turn triggered much else.

Now is this a sign of Goldman's smartness or something else? If Goldman knew enough to get out of something they had abetted for a while, then what did they know, when did they know it and why didn't they warn anyone else or warn the Treasury Department?

If institutions like Goldman or AIG are too big to fail, if taxpayers are their ultimate guarantors, then they owe the best information to taxpayers -- that is, the Treasury -- ahead of shareholders, investors and even directors.

More from MSN Money and Forbes.com

    7. If democracy and free markets in tandem furnish the best guarantee of an affluent society, why is China, which has neither, outperforming us?

    8. If ethnic diversity and international talent regardless of nation, creed, gender, etc. -- what economists call mobile labor -- are elements crucial to the success of an economy (as Silicon Valley keeps telling us), why are the world's two top economies -- Japan and China -- so mono-ethnic?

    9. It appears that those top liberal democracies with the most highly regulated banks such as Italy, France and Sweden suffered least from "exposure to toxic assets." Their banking systems remained the most stable and needed the least help. What does that tell us about our assumptions? Why are their models not good for us?

I do not offer these probes with a hidden agenda in favor of any political ideology. But conversely, our well-intentioned political biases mustn't block out hard questions. When we freed the economy from the political intrusion of quasi-socialist policies during the Reagan-Thatcher years, we also freed the science of economics from the sway of popular superstitions -- in order that the market serve the people better.

Or so we thought. Socialism, we said, is what socialists do, not what they promise. The same applies to any other system: fascism, Islamic law, crony capitalism, colonialism. It also applies to the free market.

What separates us from them? Why are "bad" systems doing so well? What happens if you have to choose between freedom and affluence? And finally, why is no one asking these questions?

    Re: Interesting questions

I have some money invested ( small amount)  in a mutual fund group that is not performing well. It is not worth cashing out and taking the hit on the fees. I switched one of the funds to a Chinese growth fund before the crash. That fund did very well, then started to slip some, then during the crash really dipped.  One of the officers of the investment firm called me to scold me for transferring to that fund. Said it was not a good investment, I would lose most of it. I switched to a bond fund for security. Well the bond fund is stagnant, I should have stuck to my guns and stayed with the Chinese fund as it is doing very well. Moral of the story, who knows, it is all a crap shoot. If we ever really get into it with the Chinese, who knows what could happen. But just becasue someone has gone or studied finances and the stock market, does not mean they are a good adviser. My best advice to my inner self is save, and be diversified. If you have the need to play the lottery, play no more than 5 dollars a week. The lottery is an even bigger crap shoot. There is a money guy on WJR on the weekends, I can't even listen to anymore. It just makes me sick. I do want to buy some gold though, I am fearful of an even bigger crash. But I may have to buy silver as I can't afford the gold prices.  The USA is too leveraged. Save every penny folks. Don't buy goods or things if you don't need it, make do .  And really watch your holiday spending. I agree with taxpayer on a lot of things.

    Re: Interesting questions

I've been on that kick for years...no newspaper/mag sub., just buy parents/kids gifts, no Starbucks unless I REALLY want it, no nails done (manicure once a year), no anything extra.  No NO NO.  When my stocks hit to where I lost, I'm cashing in and keeping $$$$.  Gold/silver maybe.

rvtwitty--here is what I have done ,and am very happy: I have subscribed to the Motley Fool newsletter. I believe it is $99 a year. Following their stock recommendations have been very good for me. I sold almost all my mutual funds in My IRA , and my wife's 401K. The best advice has been Netflix, Marvel Entertainment, Fortune Brands, and Activision. Check it out.

    SS Kwame

Kwame's ship is sinking quicker every day as more and more information is leaked out. The Sunday Free Press has a very good couple pages of new revelations. http://www.freep.com/article/20091108/NEWS01/911080467/1318/Did-Manoogian-party-tapes-vanish?

Now we have 30 missing 911 tapes? LMAO! Kwame is so guilty. I think he may be going back to jail this year or early next year. MIKE COX IS SUCH A LYING CO&^%&^UCKER!

    Re: SS Kwame

Some of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, a little over 60 years ago, witnesses claim that an unidentified flying object (UFO) with five
aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch just outside Roswell , New Mexico . This is a well known incident that many say has long been
covered up by the U.S. Air Force and other federal agencies and organizations.

However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of April 1948, nine months after that historic day, the following people were born:

    Albert A. Gore, Jr..
    Hillary Rodham
    John F. Kerry
    William J. Clinton
    Howard Dean
    Nancy Pelosi
    Dianne Feinstein
    Charles E. Schumer
    Barbara Boxer

See what happens when aliens breed with sheep and jackasses?
I certainly hope this bit of information clears up a lot of things for  you. It did for me.

No wonder they support the bill to help illegal aliens!

    Now You Know!
