You are definitely entitled to your opinion. But, as far as I'm concerned being the President of the City Council it's his job to be abreast of ALL the goings on be it positive, or negative. And as far as I'm concerned how can you have a co-worker who sits across from you on a regular interval, and not have some sort of idea of inpropriety going on. You know who the office supply thief is in your office. C'mon this was City business that should have made it to his desk if no one else's.
And if you say Mr. Cockrell Jr. doesn't have any skeletons in closet, you are sadly mistaken. Your so-called Mr. Perfect has litgation that he has on the hush hush right now. So again I say before you annoint him to be Saint Mr. President of City Council check with Steve Smith over at channel 7. Like I said I wouldn't give him a key to a Gym locker, let alone the key to the City.
GLDDET, I did not say Ken Cockral was perfect or a saint, those are your words. I only know what I have seen in the last 4-5 months. I know nothing about skeletons in his closet. He has reponded to my emails in a honest and forthright manner when other council members totally ignored my emails. And to sit there put up with Conyers, I have to give him a pat on the back!

I just read on firejerryo (the blog) that the reason Judge Giles postponed the next court date for Kwame was so that Kwame could attend the DNC in Denver. Is that true????Could Judge Giles be that blatently in the pocket of Kwame?
Giles did meet with Kwame's security person the day before the hearing - He was probably paid off at that time. I think Giles is in the thugs pocket.

Re: Council Moves to Oust Mayor

Dear Glddet
You say that Ken Cockrel also has some things in his past that make you feel he is even less trustworthy than Kwame Kilpatrick. I don't know what they are-or even if there are any things-but, if there are, they must be WHOPPERS to make him worse than Kwame! And since he would only serve as mayor for 90 days, until a new election is held, I think that the city would be safe enough in his hands.
Thanks for your concern, though.
Either no one is READING my ORIGINAL posts, or it's just pick and choose the one's that don't agree with YOUR thought process. Either way, once again I will clear the air, one more time. I was NOT an original supporter of Kwame Kilpatrick NUMBER 1. When he ran for re-election I was NOT in favor of Freeman Hendricks, so I voted for Kilpatrick by default. I am NOT surprised none in the least of what has transpired during his tenure in office. Nor have I EVER accepted, or condoned his risque behavior since BECOMING our Mayor.
And as for President Cockrell, his turn shall come. And my anger is not just with him. I have enough for Ms. Cockrell, Ms. Conyers, Ms. Watson, and Mr. Kenyatta. And I did vote for each and every one of them. Since the year 2000 I have tried to do my homework on the Candidates I vote for, so that win or lose I have no shame in MY decision. But, in the same breath politricksters, and politicians are easily confused after they get in office. Politics are like a box of chocolates, you never REALLY know what you are going to get sometimes until it's too late.

Anyone can blog anything. True or untrue. I would wait until you see it on the front page of John Bennets web site. The stuff he puts on the home page of his website is 99% accurate. I can't speak for the bloggers.

You have to realize ALL of Detroit government is corrupt. All branches are taking the taxpayers and citizens to the cleaners. The only hope of getting justice is if the Feds come in to clean things up. Look and what Giles and the Chief Judge of 36th district court have done. They represent the judicial branch and they are as crooked as Kwame and his executive branch. The city council, legislative branch, are also avoiding doing the right thing. And don't forget about our lame ineffective governor. Just keep listening to them about the wonderful city of Detroit. Of course, it is wonderful to them because they are ripping it off for everything it is worth. Can anyone tell ME what is wonderful about Detroit and why anyone would want to live here? Yes, please let me know what Detroit has to offer and beyond that what has Michigan to offer?

Thank you for answering, Keo10
It is incredible how obviously corrupt Detroit is. The whole political body, though, should really be mad at Kwame for exposing all of them. Now that the toothpaste is out of the tube, they will (hopefully) have a harder time hiding all of their ties. I heard on Mildred Gaddis one day that an aunt of Kwame, whose limit is up, is having her son try for her job until she can run again. He is 24 years old, but his campaign papers say he has been in politics for 20 years. Hopefully the Kilpatrick and Cheeks names will encounter adverse effects from the name recognition fiasco.

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has implemented a new policy that text messages sent on city-owned devices are considered private I wonder what else he is trying to hide. Hmmmmm.

Everybody is going to have skeletons in their closet. I don't mind Cockrel serving as interim mayor. I just want a mayor that isn't a murderer.

Re: JUST HEARD ON WJR THAT BEATTY IS CONSIDERING DEAL WITH PROSECUTOR!!
chxok1215: Laura56:OUR DREAMS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!!!!!!!!!
Money (or lack of it) talks!!
I have to get to work. Please, anyone listen to the news and keep us posted!!!!
I actually read in the Free Press yesterday that after their court proceedings on Tuesday, KK went over to CB and hugged her and one kissed the other on the cheek.....what's that all about? Has she no sense at all? Why didn't she turn her back on him when she saw him coming? What does Carlita think about this? Is he trying to remind her how much they love each other and not to deal with the prosecuor? OOOOh it gets crazier and crazier and crazier......
I have not heard that but will watch. I would think it would be headlines. This is where suporters of this dangerous duo are confused, they both pray for forgiveness in tearful confessions at their churches, yet they will figh to the death to win this and cover the truth. If they were really remorseful and the like as their pastors say then they would just shut up and do the punishment. That would convince me they are really sorry. Roll over on KK . C.B. and I don't mean in the same bed. She should have slapped him in court, he is still playing her!

And for that matter I was a very dear friend to both Ms. Everett, and Ms. Scott when they were alive. Worked at both their campaign headquarters when I could. For that matter my mother was a very good friend to Erma Henderson when she was alive (my mother [July 1987]) . I'll go you one better than that, my Dad made an appointment with Coleman Young to make absolutely sure I could never become a police officer. He devulged that little tid bit of info to me when we were at his baby sister's funeral. So it really doesn't matter what EACH individual case seems to be. I have not attempted to put ANY words in YOUR mouth. I'm just speaking MY thoughts, and MY feelings and I thought this was the venue where I would be able to do so. But, so many times I forget that only a chosen few get to speak their mind uncontested.

If they are considered private, why is the city and taxpayers are paying for them, each individual should pay for their own would save the city some money

I don't think that Keo said that Ken Cockrel was "Mr. Perfect", didn't call him a Saint... fact is, I am certain that Keo didn't say that. I don't think that anyone in government, let alone City of Detroit government is perfect. For that matter, I am relatively certain that we all have something in our past that we would rather not have publicized. I would however say that with Ken Cockrel, I ABSOLUTELY do not get the egomaniacal, sociopathic, power crazed lunacy that I get from the Kwame Salami. The bottom line is that regardless of whomever would take over as Mayor, for the interim period of time until an election was held... is irrelevant. At this point it is about stopping the hemmorhaging. We just need to get Kwame's hand out of the wallet, and off the checking account.
Oh and who is Steve Smith? Did you mean Steve Wilson?

Patersons,
Please tell me your address and where you would like the moving company to take your belongings. :)
While I have to admit (stunned as I am) that I agree with you, to some extent. I would love to hear ANYONE tell me 10 reasons to move to the City of Detroit, or to the State of Michigan. These days it would be tough. I don't agree with the thought that Michigan, or Detroit has a monopoly on bad government, or bad politics. This is NOT a Michigan thing, it's everywhere, and no... it is not a partisan thing either.
Corruption, effects both parties, and yes Patersons, all races.

I've got to ask. Is there a point here, with the name dropping?? If so, I missed it. Secondly, uncontested? If you look back, you'll find very few responses to your apparent animosity toward this group as a whole! Why? I haven't the slightest. Everything you post seems argumentative and as Laura stated earlier, that's not why we're here. We've grown quite a bit on this board and know each other pretty well (to be bloggers) and I can tell you, to be part of this group, your energy and attitude will have to change.
