Kathy 1007:Does anyone know if the hearing will be publicised , When and where. I have probably already missed it. Its 3:30 right now. Dollar short and a day late, that's me!!!
I'm sure most of us have heard how whenever bad news is coming out about a politician, it is released on a Friday afternoon/evening. Now here were are on a HOLIDAY weekend, with a hearing about these text messages. I wonder if they ARE released whether KK will think everyone will just forget about them because of the fourth of July?
The motions will be sealed. No text messages for the public yet. Per WWJ.
Monday the pros will be in Giles' courtroom per freep.com. I like this so far.

From the freep
TEXT MESSAGE SCANDAL
Thirty-sixth District Court Judge Ronald Giles said this afternoon that he will delay making a decision on whether to accept or whether to make public a prosecution motion that includes hundreds of text messages involving Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, former aids Christine Beatty and others until July 14.
Makes one wonder..........Holdin' out for the highest bidder?

Ray this was the www I went to, I just saw the post from you. it looks the same as above, Its a long but very informative article. I haven't seen much of her lately. i hope her career isn't in the toilet due to simply being involved with someone associated with this mess. The Victims seem to be mounting up. Still haven't seen Steve Wilson. I am sure he is still on this though, maybe just stepped aside due to the Feds being involved.
I really have not look at foxnewsdetroit much. I am WDIV all the way. I googled Rayford Jackson and her name came up. Debbie seems to be all over this story. I truly hope Steve is ok.

Re: UTube - Newt Gingrich about Detroit
Tushana: Missy55367: keo10:
I LOVE Newt and was extremely disappointed when he decided not to run for President.
But boy, that video you cited brought up everything! He really laid out Detroit's problems, and specifically the problem of the schools (their goal is wrong - instead of striving to educate students, they focus on passing out paychecks!).
Thanks keo. Interesting.
I am by no means a Newt Gingrich fan. I have to admit that he does make some very compelling comments regarding Thompson's $200 million offer for charter school funding. It was absurd for a city with a 75% dropout rate to reject this offer. It was indeed immoral.

I am wondering if the mayor's whole stragety is to frustrate the public to the point where they don't care anymore, are sick of hearing about this, and maybe he thinks it will go away if it is drug out long enough.
Kim Worthy has to be totally frustrated at this point, dealing with his run a round, knowing to begin with his guilt was proven. Detroit should throw a support rally for Kim just to know how many are truely supporting her. ?

Did any of you notice how tired the governor looked today? This mess seems to be taking its toll on her finally. The Feds must be doing something very right.
Having mixed feelings about the 5 pm conference. I really just want them to say little kk is resigning. LOL
Hell, you'd be tired too if you had to carry ten extra pounds of MOLE around all day. I can't for the life of me understand why she doesn't get that sucker removed. It's a simple procedure, local anesthetic.
The mole is ugly, but sometimes the root goes way into the muscle. If that were the case, Granholm would need a skin graft and plastic surgery. Or she thinks the mole gives her personality kind of like Alfalfa and his cowlick.
The mole may go into her muscle but as we all know it certainly does not go into her SPINE..........she doesn't have one.

I think you have it right. Darlene Bowers sold me the house I lived in today in '72. They are comparing this mess (sludge) to the Vista mess 25 yrs. ago. little kk and his attys want more and more delay. Get Real, I think we are getting fed up with mess, however it is getting more interesting. You know I wonder what would I do as I can't keep **it! I am not a refrigerator as my deceased sister would say. Oh well, there is still hope. Ms. Worthy has got to be worn out. I like the idea of a support rally for her.

1. Where the hell is Steve Wilson??? I have not heard a thing from him for weeks. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
2. Is anyone "mature" enough to remember Lou Gordon? I can imagine old Lou is rolling over in his grave watching the pi$$ poor media coverage of this entire mess. I miss Bob Talbert and Bill Bonds as well. These were real reporters with real connections and feelings about the city of Detroit and the surrounding area. They didn't pull any punches. They weren't just cute little news READERS like Fanchon Stinger and the rest of these yahoos. "Just a bubble-headed bleach blond comes on at 5, she can tell ya bout the plane crash with a gleam in her eye, it's interesting when people die, give us dirty laundry".
3. Detroit now wants to enforce some obscure ordinance regarding bicycle lisences. I have folks doing 40+ miles an hour down my street in stolen vehicles and this crappy a$$ city has the second highest rate of murder per capita in the nation, second only to some pi$$hole like New Jersey. The best these idiot leaders can do is try and screw little kids riding their bikes. Fukwame and the city clowncil.
4. Happy Independence day. Hope you all have a safe weekend. Don't drink and drive. Take a short moment to remember all the blessings we have in this nation. Just the fact that we can openly express our political viewpoint without fear of a knock on the door at 3am makes me proud and happy to be an American. It's not perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than 99% of the other nations on this globe.
peace,

Excellent point, GR. You can even see it here and in the media - the longer this is drawn out, the less people are writing, talking and reporting on it.
And there's the concept of the "trickling out" of news. Nothing all at once, just things being released a little at a time. When that happens, people tend to lose interest.
BTW, Fox 2 has a story that possibly Daddy K is involved with the sludge (I know we're all just in shock over this). Anyway, the guy looks just his boy! He's just huge (extremely broad shoulders); he was shown in a fedora, and even had an earring in his left ear! I couldn't believe it. So all this time we're thinking KK is dressing like Al Capone, but instead, he's dressing like his daddy!

Tax, I remember Lou Gordon. I was just a little kid, and I remember sitting in my parents living room watching him on Sunday nights. I honestly believe that's when I first became interested in politics.
And yes, the bike ordinance might make sense in some little town where the biggest crime was jaywalking. But Detroit? You KNOW Leno et al will be all over this one.
Happy 4th to all. And as taxpayer states, we in the United States are in fact fortunate. We have blessings and freedom, abundance and protection. God bless you all.

Iremember Lou Gordon, no one ever filled his shoes. He would have loved this kk story. His wife (don't remember her name) use to be on the show with him.

I see Kim Worthy is becoming more vocal on TV now that kk's attorney Parkman is all over the TV talking about his poor abused client. She should keep it coming.

just amazed:
I found this on a freep forum
seems to be lengthy but so far sounds interesting
http://my.wrif.com/mim/?p=271
Tax, you mentioned Bill Bonds and this was from yesterday, as I mentioned it is quite lengthy but he touches on quite a few things, with kk stuff in first 1/3 then politics, I don't always care for wrif sometimes they are pretty crazy but this was actually interesting. At the end he talks about ducks being rescued and I see on the web site that is what happened.
Last I have heard of Steve Wilson he was getting shoved around, maybe Wxyz is keeping him low key? I am sure he has something brewing
