Pentastar Aviation is a private aviation company owned by Mr. Edsel Ford and headquartered at the Oakland County International Airport in Waterford, Michigan.

 

Pentastar responds to the March 18, 2008 broadcast by WXYZ Channel 7 reporter Steve Wilson which was also published on the Channel 7 website. Mr. Wilson erroneously implied that Pentastar Aviation provided free air transportation to Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his family. That is untrue. The flight in question was arranged and paid for in advance with no discounts offered or given by Pentastar and/or Mr. Ford.  This flight was a sub-charter and not operated by Pentastar Aviation. The FAA does not require Part 135 flights to keep or disclose the names of its customers. Pentastar Aviation is in complete compliance with FAA regulations.

 

There are also several other statements made in the broadcast.  For example, Mr. Wilson stated that Mr. Ford “previously sought to operate at City Airport.”  That statement is true. Pentastar Aviation frequently makes flights to and from City Airport. Additionally, Mr. Wilson stated that Mr. Ford refused to comment on Mayor Kilpatrick’s air travel.  At no time prior to the broadcast and/or publication was Mr. Ford approached by either Channel 7 or Steve Wilson and given the opportunity to comment.

My brother practices out of state and I can use him as a resource.  He did comment that Kym Worthy's "surprise"comment re. public reaction was at the very least "unprofessional" .  I'm reasonably sure the perjury/obstruction of justice issues do not vary state to state.  I will look into it.

I agree and previously stated that her "surprise" comment was totally unprofessional!  That statement in itself makes me question her overall ability to get the job done.  She was into playing with the public.  This is not a game.  I am not speculating.  I posted earlier that maybe kk knows more than we think.  Maybe he knows the city doesn't have a competency level that can get the job done.  We will have to see.  Worthy sounds intelligent but that is comparing her to the others I have witnessed since this scenario started...so maybe it doesn't say much for her???  When she was given this position it was stated that she was a strong prosecutor.  Again I have to see it to believe it!

As I stated earlier he does not practice in MI but as Indytf states in a later post and confirmed by my brother there are slight differences state to state but nothing dramatically different. The following text in quotes is his response.

Ken Cockrel indicated tonight that even if he is charged with perjury or obstruction,he doens't have to step down, although public pressure to do so would increase.  I doubt that also.  It's funny, 400 supporters were out tonight demanding justice for Kwame and the rally against him couln't conjure up 100 detroiters.  That tells me alot.

Supporters for the mayor state that they want "fairness and justice". We all do! Is it fair when taxpayers have to pay millions of dollars because of the mayor's lies and deceit? Is it fair to persecute the media for shedding light on matters that would have otherwise been kept in the dark?

The justice that any of us would receive for breaking the law by committing perjury is the same justice we want for Mr. Kilpatrick. Because being a mayor does not mean being above the law.
