Kathy, there are differences. Many are "Best Buy exclusives" etc. I've heard a lot of nightmare stories about repairs and service from resellers. My advice is to buy from Dell direct. The pricing is great. I bought loaded laptops for my son and daughter for grad gifts in the last year for $550-600. I have also bought 2 or 3 desktops through Dell. No problems at all.
