walking tall:rvtwitty--here is what I have done ,and am very happy: I have subscribed to the Motley Fool newsletter. I believe it is $99 a year. Following their stock recommendations have been very good for me. I sold almost all my mutual funds in My IRA , and my wife's 401K. The best advice has been Netflix, Marvel Entertainment, Fortune Brands, and Activision. Check it out.
I have heard the Motley Fool letter has some good tips. A guy I once knew, told me not to buy stocks, but to buy and sell options. You have to have a lot of savvy and guts to do that. That is a very up and down thing to do. I should have just bought Ford last year when it was 2 bucks a share. You snooze, you lose. Ford still might be a good buy for the long term. My sis hung on the her GM till it was almost too late. Her 100 shares she finally sold this year at 58 cents a share. She just barely got out, she will declare it a loss on her taxes.
