I found myself yelling at the TV again.............On Channel 4 news , the city council was shown at one of there last sessions. BRC and Martha were suggesting that they leave office WITH their city cars! There was mention of buying the cars, but we all know Martha will be in bankruptcy right after her last city paycheck. They were shot down by Sheila Cockrel and someone from the mayors office. The nerve of these idiots ! Yeah, we'll give you parting gift for all your valuable contributions in making Detroit a fine place to live and do business. Yeah, right after Stevie Wonder finds Waldo.

Total trash! They have gotten away with so much why would they not assume they could pull this one off. On another note I have come to the conclusion they will never solve the Tamara Green case and kk will walk away. No one has the balls to take care of business! That is the real picture and kk knows it. Wilson has done his best but he isn't the judge and he isn't one of many who keeps coddling this sociopath. Worthy could nail him but when you have a judge with no balls her hands are tied.

Wow, WT, I would have been screaming at the TV too! Unbelievable! Those two miscreants apparently haven't ripped off the city enough, so now they want their cars as well? Similar to Monica taking off with the $20K in computers (and of course we STILL don't know whatever became of that "loot").

You have to sign up to have the new automated meter reading equipment installed. Detroit water customers will receive notices in the mail letting them know when technicians are working in their neighborhoods to install the new automatic meter readers.

An appointment must be scheduled. Customers who do not schedule an appointment will be charged $30 each time the Water Department sends someone out to read the water meter.

You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-866-217-2359 or 313-372-2100 between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

lol..........I finally got the new meter after waiting at home for 4 or 5 days. I feel sorry for elderly folks and folks that work for a living. If you don't have several days to sit and wait for these jokers, you are screwed.

I thought of Tax when I heard this also, just hope the recent work they did will cover this, If not I would be just alittle irate that I had the work done and NOW have to have it redone at the low cost of $30.00 per visit. And if he has to pay again I would be very verbal. Oh well, I am putting up a fight for you Tax, even before I know what may happen.

Even as ex-mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick casts a large shadow.
Just ask Mayor Dave Bing.
I spoke with Bing in his office Wednesday about his plans to turn around the city. But as he showed me to the door, the mayor expressed some frustration about Kilpatrick’s ability to continue sucking the air out of the city, overshadowing whatever progress Detroit is making, or could make.
Mor than a year after he resigned in disgrace, Kilpatrick continues to big-time it. He keeps talking, we keep listening — and Detroit keeps bleeding.

As an example, Bing pointed to a story this week about the Detroit police department putting 150 more cops on the street , including 50 new hires through a federal grant.
That move should improve the day-to-day lives of Detroiters on the block. But Bing noted that the story got overshadowed by the former mayor's restitution hearing.
With people all over the country willing to help Detroit, and the city ready for change, the time is right to move forward, Bing said. But can we?

I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’m at the point where, when I see a story on Kilpatrick, I sometimes turn the page, change the channel, or click the mouse.

It’s not that I don’t think ongoing coverage of the former mayor’s abuses isn’t warranted or valuable. There’s no doubt that it is.

But as a Detroiter, I’m sick of it. I want this guy to go away, so we can focus on the staggering problems of the people: Blight, jobs, bus service, vacant buildings, education, public safety, street lighting, homelessness, population loss and so on.

Kilpatrick has lost his earring but not his inner bling. With him in the rear-view mirror, can we keep our eyes on the road ahead?

I think Bing is going to have to let go of the KK straglers for there to be the taxpayers trust.

And the Yatooma story...I hope someone/something breaks. Even if She-man has to go down for beating that undercover cop. And if it wasn't Tamara then why would KK want her dead?? There's so many pieces and someone needs to speak up. There's way too many conflicting stories.

I've got a legal question.

I don't get it as to how these trials work. So there's a murder trial, like O.J. Simpson, and everyone just stays in court, coming back day after consecutive day, until the trial is over.

But what's with this? Each time they meet with the Kwamster, he obfuscates (I've heard this a lot, and had to look it up myself!) and confuses/muddies the issues so much that they have to continue on. And instead of making the miscreant come back TOMORROW, like anyone else would have to, he gets a three week reprieve, so he can get make up more excuses and consult with his co-conspirators so they can all get their stories straight.

My question is why they can't just continue with him until the case is over? Why does he get these lengthy breaks in between? We KNOW nothing will happen on Dec. 7, and they will certainly drag this out until way after Christmas.

This Groner judge is giving the Kwamster every break in the book! And what does it say about our justice system, that a criminal is let out and has the ability to make $300K on one sale? There are gazillions of Americans out there who will not make that much in a lifetime, yet he gets "set up" very nicely here, doesn't he?

Only the privledged get so many breaks.

They didn't continue because the kwamster said he has an all important appointment (probably $300,00 sale or was that a $300,00 commision) for which he would be able to pay restitution and god forbid the court would stand in his way to making money that he could pay back .

Amazed is correct. Judge Groner has said many times that his main intention in all of this is to ensure that the citizens of Detroit get the million dollars from Kwame. Unfortunatley Kwame finds a way to take advantage of this. One thing about the hearing stands out to me. Kwame never has to be in the hot seat for more than a couple hours. His lawyer has come up with crap about letting others testify etc. If you watch Kwame carefully, he begins to unfold more, the longer he is on the witness stand. By this, I mean that you can almost see him cracking and his lil f'd up personality splitting off. He begins to screw up and divulge more information than he should because he loves to talk and take pot shots at the prosecutor. The prosecutor needs to machine gun him with fast questions and really pressure him. Kwame appears cool and calm as long as he feels in control but you really get a glimpse of what an out of control killer he is when he gets under pressure. I hope they come up with even more dirt on him before December. They have a few more names to work with and now the Detroit Schools real estate investigation is heating up. It was well known for years that if you were a contractor wanting to gain an upper hand in Detroit on a bid you needed to talk to one of the friends and family first, or hire them. I think all this will come out eventually and I think Kwame, his daddy, Bobby Fergeson and others will be looking at some real time.

Good observations, guys. Anything is possible for a short period of time - Kwame keeping "cool" and not messing up his "story"; me being on a diet.

Too bad Groner keeps falling for this. Or more likely, it's intentional, giving the Kwamster "cover".
