-The 'MOTOR' in the 'MOTOR CITY' has 'STALLED'! And it is vital, to the utmost, that things of substantially signifigant value to the citizens of Detroit be (quickly) inacted!

-If this city is going to survive and become viable for the reversal of people leaving this region of America...There 'MUST' be an (advertised) active movement of plans that the people...who actually 'ARE' the city can relate to 'positively'...that which can quell the dissatisfaction that resonates throughout!

-Action 'MUST' be orchestrated away from and aside from the problems surrounding the Mayor! Everyone is always saying that 'WE' must move forward!...Which is true, but a 'Stalling car' can't move and needs a infrastructual 'TUNE UP' to operate efficiently!

'MOVE FORWARD' toward 'WHAT'?...Why isn't the council table 'FULL' with actually addressing the needs of the people...allowing themselves to aggressively pursue ideas that can produce economic and social change?

Close observation of the City, as a whole, has revealed a number of (Newly) 'FAILED' business ventures...'Club' closings, the closing down of 'Asian Village', Home foreclosures, Job Losses, People pulling out of Loft & Condo agreements, etc.

This is 'YOUR' (Council) opportunity to 'TUNE UP' the climate of this city...regardless to what's going on with the Mayor...for as a bit of advice, the Mayor's Trouble can & possibly will reflect on the 'WHOLE COUNCIL' at election time. You all 'MUST' aim to stand alone in the future progress & re-vitalization of this city!

Things have reached the point of serious 'DISGUST' with the residents of Detroit, as well as, people around the entire country and world!...Money is needed to be overwhelmingly flowing throughout Wayne County to change the worldwide opinion about Detroit!

Accepting, processing and producing some of the 'MONEY GENERATING' ideas which would 'SERVE' the people of this city is the 'ONLY WAY'!

Selling the Detroit portion of the 'Detroit/Windsor' Tunnel will prove to be a real life 'Shot in the foot'!...That would be a 'MONUMENTAL' mistake!

-The 'TUNNEL', the 'GOLF COURSE' and other things having been attempted to be sold are 'RIDICULOUS' concepts! 'WHY' didn't you sell the 'DETROIT ZOO' (which exists outside of Detroit)?...It could still exist as a Zoo...just not as a financial drain to the city of Detroit!...People that patronize it would still go there!

'All' monies available (at this time) should be aimed toward actually creating 'JOBS' through striking up everyones interests with different forms of Family Entertainment!...(It's the easiest way)...Since Detroit has a fading reputation as a Party Town...Different forms of Entertainment has always proven throughout this country as a means to generate money (and quell unrest). Other business ventures 'WILL FOLLOW'!

(For Example) 'BELLE ISLE' could be (as I pointed out in my multi-page letter sent to each one of the Council members) a 'CASH COW'! It could & certainly would produce so much revenue that it, by itself, would serve as a year round destination point...for many miles around Detroit!...(Milked Everyday) Producing revenue...Not unlike the Billions spent outside of Detroit, traveled to and issued out by Detroiters themselves...(FACT) Those suburban places have things which strike their interests! And to not strike the interests of your own people so that they would be inclined to spend their money in their own home town is to 'STRIKE OUT'!

-I visited 'HOUSTON, TEXAS' last year and have absolutely no idea what 'Kwame Kilpatrick' is talking about when he came back here and announced that 'HOUSTON' doesn't have anything on Detroit!...(WHATEVER!)

Well, I have relatives who live there...paying only $1,100 a month for a spank brand new 3000+ sq. foot home...5,000 people move into the city every single week...'HOUSTON' is NUMBER 1 in Nation for Jobs, Schooling, Housing, Dining, Entertainment, etc....And 'WHY'?...Because the city believes in itself, the city invests in itself, the city promotes itself and the city prides itself!...Actually, there is 'TOO MUCH' there to do!...But, the success of it all rests on the Idea that they try their best to serve the tastes of all people!

They have thought enough 'NOT' to tear down the vacant 'ASTRODOME'...as opposed to the 'HISTORICALLY REGISTERED' Tiger Stadium!

And, guess what? They are Number One (1) in the country for many reasons (even) 'WITHOUT' the existence of 'City or State Taxes' taken out of their 'JOB PRODUCED' checks!...(go figure)

If nothing is going to be done here then expect the Book-Cadillac and any other substantial venture all to 'FAIL'!...Hell...'TOYOTA' is Number One (1) now...Not 'GM'...Move on...'ENTERTAINMENT' (of all sorts) needs to be our main gross local product (to begin with)!

You need to now allow for all of the indictments against the Mayor to play itself out! The 'Mayor' is doing a great job at hanging himself...'ALL BY HIMSELF'!...his situation has a life of it's own that is not going to get away from you with so many other governing bodies involved!...'MOVE ON'! Tend to the everyday 'PEOPLE' (TAXPAYERS) of Detroit! (Seriously) Drive around all areas & feel the 'NEGATIVE PULSE' that thumps through the veins of the contengancy of this city!

Question: What is a Doctor's 'OBLIGATION/DUTY' that he 'SHOULD' attempt to do when faced with a patient who comes into his office and discovers that the person is dying?...(THINK ABOUT IT!)

As far as I'm concerned all your points are valid. I just have a problem with who you sent your concerns to. As I have stated many times before Ken Cockrel Jr. is not someone to expect this overnight problem solver angle. This is the same individual who can sit idlely by and view the corruption all around him, and CAN NOT see any. That is until the Media sticks a microphone in his face and he can't avoid them.

And I beg to differ with you on the City is dying issue. The citizens who live here such as myself will never take that attitude. Maybe those on the outside looking in can feel that way. But those of us who actually live here will never do it. I was born and raised here, and contrary to popular beliefs I will ALWAYS be proud of who I am and where I came from. Kilpatrick's troubles don't define what I am, or what I have accomplished in my lifetime. So all the people who are ashamed to say they are from the Detroit area, probably aren't from here anyway. But close enough that Detroit is the largest City to where they ARE from.

And as for your doctor reference, that depends on whether you HAVE health care or not. I'm sure YOU have insurance and CAN afford to GO to the doctor. There is another group of people right here in this City who CAN'T. And those who are tax dollars pay for get the minimal amount of care allowed to them. Remember just a few weeks ago a woman died in the hospital waiting room after she had been there for 23 hours. After being interviewed by a doctor in New York. It won't be long before that very same fate happens to someone here.

So waving a self righteous flag to point out what is wrong is great for those who really aren't affected by what you are talking about. But for those who REALLY are affected don't really have any say so. Because of the feet that are on the backs of their neck. The entire system needs re-visiting as to it's efficiency true enough. But before you declare the City of Detroit a disaster area you need to direct your comments to Roger Penske and the Detroit Economic Club. They have more say so as to what will ACTUALLY happen in this City than who you think. Kilpatrick IS going to jail. So you need to start thinking out of your usual box, and really focus your attention on who ACTUALLY runs this City. And address your concerns to them.

It is quite clear that the entire concil has no clue in running this city.. Quit trying to get the govener involved in this mess wich you have helped create...

Now when I travel across our great country,and people ask where I'm from,Saying Michigan is sooo embarressing. People often ask how you can live in a place so corrupt. To a certain degree this is too easy. You can not expect anyone to compare you to the Mayor of our City do you ?? If you were born and raised here why should you care what anyone thinks about it ?? If Jesus died on the cross in Michigan does that mean you would be ashamed to be from there ?? I mean I'm trying to understand what one has to do with the other ??

I can understand if you are ashamed of your OWN personal heritage. But that's a bit extreme to pass out a lame excuse of "I'm ashamed because of my Mayor" yeah right. Tell me what does the Mayor's troubles have to do with you at all ?? Guilt by association, I don't think so. Your being proud of yourself and your accomplishments have NOTHING to do with Kilpatrick's administration. But if it does, your situation is a lot deeper than the answers you may receive on this forum.

Detroit's City Council is right with their decision to try to get rid of "King Kwami". He thinks he is above everyone else, and is "untouchable", which is a crock. You are NOT above the law buddy, so give it up, drop your smug looks you present while in front of the camera's, and move on! I'm also wondering if "some" City Council Members will ever see the light about their "innocent mayor". Do you know how to acheive this by chance? Doubt it very much!

I was NOT an original supporter of Kwame Kilpatrick NUMBER 1. When he ran for re-election I was NOT in favor of Freeman Hendricks, so I voted for Kilpatrick by default. I am NOT surprised none in the least of what has transpired during his tenure in office. Nor have I EVER accepted, or condoned his risque behavior since BECOMING our Mayor.
   And as for President Cockrell, his turn shall come. And my anger is not just with him. I have enough for Ms. Cockrell, Ms. Conyers, Ms. Watson, and Mr. Kenyatta. And I did vote for each and every one of them. Since the year 2000 I have tried to do my homework on the Candidates I vote for, so that win or lose I have no shame in MY decision. But, in the same breath politricksters, and politicians are easily confused after they get in office. Politics are like a box of chocolates, you never REALLY know what you are going to get sometimes until it's too late.

   It's easier for me to respond to you this way. My PREVIOUS posts will say the EXACT same thing. Been there, done that. I don't know why whenever I comment the ones I make get the hellfire and brimstone treatment. I am not, nor have I EVER been A KILPATRICK SUPPORTER. All I have ever said was the man deserves his day(s) in court. And for anyone who automatically thinks I actually give a rats a$$ about Kilpatrick is the idiot.

   I haven't the slightest clue as to what that fool is going through, and nor do I want to. I have had my share of troubles of the "Just Because I'm Black". And guess what it didn't make me a criminal. I'm not bitter, I'm not cursing the world because of it. I'm just thankful that I never ran with a crowd, I didn't have to. I never needed anyone to recognize me. Simply because I was content on who " I " was and am. Life's status symbol has never been important to me. The neighborhood I live in, or the car I drive, or the job I have does not define who I am.

   I determine who and what I am. So whether anybody likes it or not, so what. I am the one who controls MY destiny. And Kilpatrick is the excrement that many blacks get compared to not only by whites, but the rest of the world. And it will always be a sad state of affairs that people do that very thing. I would be an idiot if I felt that every white person should be seen as if they could become Charles Manson. Although over the years many have tried. So it can work both ways with perceptions. It has never been my job to judge another human being. Just be the best one I can be, and the rest will ultimately take care of itself.

I am aware that you are not a supporter of Kwame's actions. Hopefully, you have not taken my posts as personal attacks. Instead, I hope that you see them for what they are, disagreement with, and rebuttals to, the issue of "letting the courts handle it".
